coached some good ones, coached against many more ... jason terry, nate robinson, martell webster, jamal crawford, and lots of others people havent ever heard of ... but this kid from lake oswego Oregon, 6'10 255, Kevin Love is the best ive ever gone up against .. dad played in nba and uncle is Mike Love of beach boys ... anyhow, Kevin is a JR and a monster ... had 38 vs our team tonight ... inside, outside, passer, dunker, light on feet for his size ... duke, NC all over him now ...

kid played hard, well coached squad ... our PG and #2 guard were out with injuries, (nate mcmillans kid is our PG) and we played soft and were down 21 b4 we decided to nut up and got back to 8 with 5 mins ... but they wore us down 67-53 ... will be surprised if they dont win it all in Oregon ... they led 29-12 LY b4 folding in title game, but with 3 transfers I dont see them being denied ... great squad, well drilled, take a monster effort to beat them

happy holidays

i have been reading about him for years but i hear he has an entourage that may affect his recruitment. do you remember a center from montana " mike lewis" that played at duke in mid 60's? love and brockman remind me of him.

love had 19 boards, 4 blox, too ... this kid is much tougher than brockman, bigger, wide, moves well for size ... I saw spencer hawes after game (hes like #2 5 in nation as sr.) and asked him if he ever butted heads with Love and hawes humbly said he cant stop him .... trust me, this kid is lottery ... talked to many in the know and they agree ... i talked to Love after game when shaking hands and he was well mannered and said thanx etc

Biography:
2006 - High School Basketball:

Scouting: Obviously having benefitted from being the son of former NBAer and Oregon Duck Stan Love, Kevin is so advanced in his post moves he'd start for most Pac-10 schools right now. Physically he looks like he could still develop, with a good body and square shoulders. If he continues to grow and his athleticism continues to improve, he might not play college basketball. A top ten national player for 2007.

SOPH: Attended Nike Elite Camp and All-American Camp. Distinguished himself against top national competition. Injured knee and missed most of his sophomore season.

FR: Probably the most skilled big man on the west coast regardless of class, which is really something to say for a freshman prospect.

Hudson Valley area.....NY
I just e-mailed Brady,Marists coach. Love would love it here in the Hudson Valley. It's 25 degrees and we have 10 inches of snow.
I think he could play in the MAAC...Better yet...Jim Crews at Army would take him.Would he like a career in the US Army.Army allows the cadets to play pro ball...

My school opens up on Thur nite.It will be a tough game for me to watch. It's vs. the catholic power house that was in my league. My current school has never played them.People always ask me do I miss coaching.I tell them not as much as you think..but do miss it some.
But thur nite when I walk into their gym it will hit me "big time".I won my 100th and 200th game in that gym. Both games were won on the last second shot.I played that school for 17 straight years home and away. And I beat them in there gym 12 or 13 times and they beat me in mine the same.I think we split 15 times. It was some rivalry.
I haven't been in the gym since I left coaching.

Good luck with your season..Keep us posted here.I enjoy reading about your team.
Nate is doing very well with the Knicks. The other nite he shut down Nash of the Suns.It was great.nash couldn't penetrate with Nates lateral speed.

good to hear from you box; ive coached since ive been 16 (started in rec league coaching my lil bro's team when he was 12) and wonder how much I'd miss it after all these years; I know I'd miss working with the kids more than the games ...

we play hawes's team tomorrow--Seattle Prep prob #1 in state now (martell's team LY)--we will finally have all our starters for first time ... Hoping we will be headed in right direction by playoffs ... our league is strongest/deepest I can ever remember ... I think 8 of our 12 city teams have a shot at the 4 state playoff slots ... we are not on any roll, winning two in OT already -- 5-1 overall ....

washington is really producing a lot of quality players lately ... I see Marcus Williams is starting for zona now as forsh

all my best
