Don't really get this one. Gas prices were very stable in early 2003, around 1.10 a gallon I believe.

From March 03 to March 05 the prices more than doubled. This was before Katrina and Rita, which sent them skyrocketing to 3.20 or so, but those hurricanes have nothing to do with current prices. Prices have leveled off to pre-hurricane but post-war levels.

I don't understand how you think this war stabalized prices. Just the opposite, really.

Gas prices as a result of the war really is low on my list of complaints, but it's crazy to thank the war for stabalizing anything, much less fuel prices.

the reason our oil prices were stable, was cause we were dipping into our own oil reserves....if the Iraqi oil is taken out of the world supply...the result would undoubltly result in unstable prices.

Also, they're pumping less oil now than they were pre-war due to all of the sabatoging of their lines.

I know there are some possibly valid arguments to be for this war, but this one doesn't make much sense.

Yes, Saddam invaded Kuwait, and yes, we had to 'kick his ass out of there', and we did. Somehow this thread became a Kuwait discussion, but I don't think anybody here disagreed with that.

Immediately after 9/11, this admin began planning to invade that country that had nothing to do with 9/11. According to you, these are the reasons:

1. Saddam 'fvcked with inspectors.'

2. Disobeyed UN resolutions. (check and see who the league leader is in disobeying resolutions)

3. Every now and then shot flack at our jets with weapons that weren't capable of reaching the altitude at which our jets flew.

Iraq- denies having WMD and doesn't. We take over country that had very little or nothing to do with Al-Qaeda and absolutely nothing to do with 9/11. Will deliver them a fundamentalist government, a la Iran.

Iran-strong ties to Al-Qaeda and all sorts of other different terrorist organizations. Tells us flat out they have a nuclear program and that they will continue to develop it. Our action? N/A-our hands are tied right now.

Syria-has chemical weapons and possibly gas. Very strong ties to Al-Qaeda and other organizations. Allows their borders to continue to be a sieve that terrorists are pouring through. What should we do about this, MASH?

North Korea- States that they have nukes and at the least are trying hard to get them. Well, you know the drill.

So out of Iran, Iraq and Syria, shortly after 9/11, you think that Iraq was the smartest choice. I mean if we just HAD to attack somebody other than Afghanistan. That's just brilliant.

Who gives a flying fvck if he still had the chemical weapons that we had 'authorized' him to use in the late 80's. Was this really the best thing for AMERICA? Ummm, no.

This was not the best move for our national security. Period.
