His comment was very funny, but I think the response to Trump's question in general was pretty skank and unclassy. Trump's asks him if he would also hire someone Randal constantly raved about and he says no just cause he deoesn't want to share in the glory?

If Trump wanted to hire both of them, he coulda cut out that last task and put them to work already.

Randall was the clear cut winner in this whole thing. Let him enjoy being the winner and get the proper credit for kicking @ss. Don't take it away and cheapen it for him by giving a token job to the other girl.

couldn't agree more. what a classless piece of chit. he should have won probably, but his whole selling point was leading through being fair and nice. and then he jumps up and down and rubs it in her face. fk him. i lost whatever respect i had for him.

Some good feedback on last nights show...but

I watched the show. And to me Donald...you can have Randall. And this is from a Randall supporter.Without a doubt Randall is the better person.More qualified, experinced, etc. 6-0 as project manager, etc. His team really bailed him out on the last show and Randall didn't have his "A" game in the last task. But he had enough sucess in the past weeks to kick butt which he did.
Rebeeca did a solid job and for a 23 year old never panicked.Pretty forceful, made a few errors but was not in the same league as Randall.
Her final task about not raising the money that night was not her fault.Yahoo was specific about not collecting the money that night.I know Trump said "who are you working for Yahoo or pediatric aids." So she had to raise the money with private donations. What should of been asked to the Yahoo exces last nite was ,"what total did you guys get from Rebecca's task? The show was tapped months ago..Whats the yahoo excec going to say. "We only raised $ 6,000 that nite".Randall raised $11,000 for austism.
You mean to tell me with all those VP Yahoo people there they didn't raise over $11,000.I don't belive that..
I know they donated $50,000 to each but that didn't help Becky's cause.

Anyway let me get back to Randall.Again he was the winner. But his true colors came out at the end.He boasted, bragged, pounded his chest, etc.Even when he asked all the other Apprentices to stand "if they think I'm the winner." You pompus stupid ass.You were the winner. You deserved "to be hired".You backround, degrees,up bringing, struggles, etc are are all noted and everyone respected you.
But you lost me...I think Donald was going to hire Rebecca. But your great line"Aprentii" stopped him.And I agree..that it would cheapen your victory and it could of been a TV gimmick "that now everyones happy".
But hiring Rebeeca for the NJ project would have no effect on you in Atlantic City.
Everyone has some ego in him.I saw that in you the last 5 minuts of the show.Ego and arrogance. And in arrogance there is weakness.
I'm going to post this and then find a Oden Nash's poem and edit it here. That what I thought about after the show. Nash is an amazing poet.I saw this poem in my head after the hiring of randall.

Sometimes when your feeling important,
Sometimes when your ego's in bloom
Sometimes when you take it for granted
You're the best qualified in the room.

Sometimes when you feel that your going
Would leave an unfillable hole
Just follow this simple instruction
And see how it humbles your soul

Take a bucket and fill it with water
Put your hand in it up to the wrist
Pull it out,and the hole that's remaining
Is a measure of how you'll be missed

You may splash all you please when you enter
You can stir up the wator galore
But stop,and you'll find in a minut
That it looks quite the same as before

The morale in this quaint example
Is to do just the best that you can
Be proud of yourself but remember
There is no indispensable man

Randall is an A$$. Great post Box. I thought it was close but what Randall did at the end was unbelievible. The guy just showed himself to be classless phony and thinks he is a step ahead of everybody else.

YOu boys are unbelievable. You've got to be kidding me? Posters from a sports board.. a sports handicapping board, and some pretty darn good ones at that.. are crying because there was not a "co-winner" name.

Please.

So when you are watching the USC/Texas game, wait a second, WHY EVEN BOTHER PLAYING IT?
When the game is over, and Team A wins it, I want to hear each and every one of you say "Hey, wait a second, can't we have both teams win the Rose Bowl? Both teams played the game really hard. I think they should be named CO National Champions."

Yes both randal and becca busted their hump in this interview. And everyone knew going in that there would be ONE winner. Why in the h*ll is america crying because Randall earned that victory, and now he won't cheapen it by naming co-winners?

You've got to be kidding me. That was a competition. Randall won. Give the guy credit.

When 2 football teams play equally for a game, they go to overtime to produce a winner.. when 2 hockey teams play to a tie, they go to a shootout to find a winner.

and now, a winner is picked on Apprentice and people whine and cry and say Randall is a punk.. blah blah blah.

TUrn off espn boys, and go head out to the mall and pick yourself up some Man Juice this weekend. Apparently you all ran out.

Because it really was a toss up as to who deserved to be hired more. And Randal's last act spoke volumes for his personal security. He went on and on about what was best for the Trump organization, and yet when it was clear that Trump could use both of these very talented people, Randal's concern for what was best for the Trump organization went out the window. Why? Insecurity and greed. A true leader would have advocated hiring someone (Rebecca) who would have had a positive impact on the company he now works for.

Bottomline IMO was not crying over the lack of two winners, but that there were two opportunities available. One not conflicting with the other....and two qualified players.

I was on Randall's side from the beginning, and thought his poise, class, and thoroughness was exemplary, given his current high status in education and business accumen. But in the end in his final moment, he offered up a China sized ego, a true fear of sharing the limelight (even after his star had been elevated).

It has always been my opinion that there are two different types of people in business and their conduct determines it, one with heart, and one without. I chose to align my self with people with heart, and in this case he showed a lack of it! Mixing sports and business does not mean you do not show compassion for the losing team. After any SuperBowl type event, players typically always show their compassion and support for the losing team bewcause of how hard the journey it was and how devastating it is to lose.. but when presented with an opportunity to keep your title, and offer up somwthing for the other team... I would indeed do so. Maybe that is what I was rooting for. No lack of testosterone in my ideas, just an honest and humbled opinion!

Marine,

You are missing the point. Yes this is a sports board... a sports handicapping board, and a pretty darn good one at that and we like having a winner and a loser.

What we do not like is an ass, a winner that flaunts in the face of the loser.

Randall was clearly the winner. He got his project and contract. What he did not have is class. After the ?your hired? announcement he stood up and danced like an idiot who got lucky and sucked out a better player in poker and goes over to high five his drunk buddies on the sidelines.

He missed the boat to be a true winner (both in the game and in the public view) by being loyal to his competitor that he spoke well of for the majority of the program.

There is no doubt both busted their ?humps?. There is no doubt Randall earned the victory. The doubt comes in when America looks at her champion and sees a selfish, unloyal, glory hound that is unwilling to show kindness and gracefulness in victory.

Yes we want both a winner and a good guy. That may be too much to ask for but that is what we want. The mark of a true man is not savagery and selfishness. The mark of a true man is winning with class and shaking the opponents? hand at the end of the match

Just found this on MSNBC I thought it was a good article and probably better illustrates my point. Also the definition of class was the way she handled herself after the Randall denial of her hiring... not big huff just a cordial hand shake and a "That's unfortunate!" for a 23 year old, that is not only impressive, it's admirable.

?Apprentice? winner refuses to share title
Trump was ready to hire both, until Randal objected.

Tonight?s ?Apprentice? lesson should have been one in foreshadowing. During the entire ?Apprentice 4? finale, one thing was clear: Donald Trump was going to hire both Randal and Rebecca as his newest employees.

Right before he made his decision, Trump praised both candidates, offering only faint criticism. In the final boardroom, George told Trump, ?It?s no question, they?re both stars, and I think either one of them would be an excellent choice for the organization.?

And George was right. After their final boardroom appearance, Trump seemed like he was ready to hire both. Live in Lincoln Center, when he asked the two candidates to select the job they?d prefer to manage if hired, they each selected a different task: Randal wanted to work on expanding Trump?s bankrupt Atlantic City casinos, while Rebecca preferred to help develop a residential complex in New Jersey.

Everything was in place for Trump to conclude a season of mass firings (two here, four there, two more here) with a dual hiring.

?I based my company, and in fact, I based my whole life around really good people. It?s very important to me. This isn?t just a television show, this is a bout hiring somebody for a long period of time,? he said, confirming that he was ready to hire two very good people. But then our billionaire buddy surprised us.

?Rebecca, you?re outstanding. Randal, you?re hired,? Trump said.

The band struck up the ?Apprentice? theme song and Randal leapt up, hugging his friends in the cast. How could this be? What about Rebecca? Then Trump called for Randal to return to the table repeatedly. Trump, ever the showman, was just trying to squeeze out a little bit more melodrama before the double-hiring.

At least, that?s the way it appeared.

?If you were me, would you hire Rebecca also?? he asked Randal, and we all knew what was coming next. After getting the nod from Randal, Donald Trump was going to make ?Apprentice? history and hire Rebecca too.

Selfish when he could have been selfless
But then Randal, who?s perhaps played the game with more integrity than anyone else in four seasons of ?The Apprentice,? and who earned the respect of basically every other candidate in the suite this season, surprised everyone.

?Mr. Trump, I firmly believe that this is ?The Apprentice,? that there is one and only one apprentice, and if you?re going to hire someone tonight, it should be one,? Randal said. ?It?s not ?The Apprenti,? it?s ?The Apprentice.??

For some reason, this impossibly lame and aggressively selfish argument convinced Trump, who kind of shrugged and said, ?Okay, I?m going to leave it at that then. I think could have been convinced, but you feel that?s the way it should be, I?m going to leave it that way.?

That audience booed, feeling as betrayed as Rebecca must have, and as Randal jogged to the end of the stage to wave at the crowd, he was facing a group that had lost some of their respect for him; their clapping and cheering was subdued, and boos were still audible.

Rebecca just shook Trump?s hand and said, ?That?s unfortunate.?

And it was. Because yet again, Donald Trump made an arbitrary choice between two competent, talented individuals. Randal unquestionably should have been hired, but Rebecca should have as well. What Randal has in education, he lacks in foresight; what Rebecca has in competency and loyalty, she lacks in experience. They complimented each other well ? and both fit in well with Trump.

With his three wins and no losses as project manager, and with his impressive education and work history, Randal has nearly always earned only praise from Trump. And with her aggressive loyalty and unflinching determination, Rebecca has proven herself to be a younger, female version of Trump, which has clearly impressed him. From the time she defended Toral in the boardroom, it was clear he was enamored with her.

Would Rebecca have made the same decision that Randal did? The world will never know, but those final, awkward moments, when Randal chose selfishness over selflessness, were the most dramatic in a bizarrely produced finale. We should be grateful that "Apprentice 2" finale host Regis Philbin was nowhere to be found, and that the two hours (not three) were relatively filled with actual content. But while the prerecorded episode stretched until nearly the end of the two hours, it was interrupted constantly by live segments, and accompanied by an announcer who sounded more like he was selling cars than narrating ?The Apprentice 4??s finale. (?Coming up, Randal?s got a solution, but will Donald Trump buy it?? the announcer said. ?Coming up, at Rebecca?s comedy event, it turns out the joke?s on George!?)

During those prerecorded segments, Rebecca looked consistently more competent as she completed her final task. At least in the shots the editors chose to include, Randal often appeared surprised, baffled, and bewildered. But as she?s done most of the season, Rebecca never stopped smiling ? even as she solved crises while hopping around on one foot, the product of a broken ankle she had for nearly the entire season.

Randal made a number of mistakes, starting with his failure to check the weather for his charity softball game. Apparently, the only degree Randal doesn?t have is one in meteorology. And when the rain came, he had no backup plan. ?There should have been a contingency plan in place, and it just completely eluded me,? he said. ?I banked on the fact that we?d get good weather, and that was really my oversight.?

Rebecca, on the other hand, planned an event that came off almost flawlessly. One of the biggest problems came when Donald Trump caused the comedy performance to start a half-hour early. ?It is kind of humorous that out of all the things, Trump ended up being the biggest wildcard,? Rebecca said. More damningly, though, she also failed to raise a single dollar at the actual event for her charity, mostly because of pressure from Yahoo! executives, who didn?t want their clients to be harassed at their event.

Even Donald Trump, whose television show has essentially defined product placement and selling out to the highest bidder, was appalled. ?In the meantime, Elizabeth Glaser, the foundation, got nothing,? he said during the final boardroom. ?If I were Yahoo!, I would make a major contribution to the Elizabeth Glaser AIDS foundation.? That reaction led to some rather predictable damage control during the live finale; a Yahoo! executive stood up and told the audience that Yahoo! was donating $100,000 to be split between the two charities. All of Rebecca and Randal?s mistakes, though, were essentially trivial, which Donald Trump, Carolyn, and George all acknowledged.

This season, Trump famously hand-picked all of the 18 candidates (except one). Despite the fact that many of them turned out to be completely incompetent on the show (cough ToralMarkusJenniferMClayJenniferWAdam cough), he ended up with the two most impressive candidates he?s ever had. It?s just a shame that the one Donald Trump picked first was too selfish to recognize that.

BTJ,

I get it that you try to offer up some humor with your off-colored posts, but this wasn't even near funny. Sorry, dude. Just get off it already.

Secondly, as for last season's winner, it was KENDRA, the first woman he hired. Quite frankly, last yr's top 3 were weak. This season Donald wanted to shake things up. He personally chose the finalists and did wacky stuff like fire 4 at the same time.

BILL RANCIK was the first Apprentice winner. He already stated earlier this yr that he will step down as soon as his contract is up and venture out on his own.

again, randall showed a complete lack of class. forget even if he really felt the way he did. in front of millions of viewers he failed miserably and showed no class.

the other thing no one has mentioned is how do we know rebecca didn't raise any money. are we to believe that not ONE person sent in a donation from the envelope they got. they completely forgot to mention that. theres no way NO ONE didn't send in a donation.

i suspect someone will higher rebecca for a pretty penny more than randall got and she will get the last laugh.

take nothing away from randall, but he made a terrible decision and unfortunately all the good decisions he made on the show will be completely lost as people focus on his selfishness.

ok, you guys crack me up.

Don't you think that if Trump really really REALLY wanted to hire Rebecca, he would have?

NYC is a mean mean city to work in, Trump has said it many times over.
Randall made the hard decision, bless him for that.

He just won a 13 week brutal job interview that will take him above any level he was at already You honestly think that the guy shouldnt get 5 minutes to jump up and be elated?

Lastly,

Last time I saw a person win the lottery... I didnt exactly seeing them lobbying to give everyone who played the lottery their money back.

Just remember back to the great national champion debate... OU, LSU and USC....

Gee, I dont exactly seeing too many people lobby for co-national champs.

Get over your "righteous" non selfish @sses and give the man his due.
