I woke up today and thought....just bet the favourites. But then logic said that would be blind luck.....they can't continue to cover at such a high rate!!!!

Yea right....

Guys I know exactly what you are talking about and feel for ya it is sickening.....everywhere I go where I know people they are hitting five and six game parlays etc....It seems everyone of them is on cloud nine.....every square and there mother are cleaning up.....shoot i know people who rarely gamble who have played this year and made a six or 7 game parlay.....IT was funny i was just at the casino and saw this guy had 3 teamer for 3000 on all three favs today lol......i know another guy who books and this one guy has taken him for 17 grand five weeks in a row... I know a good friend of mine started booking this year and he is down over 100,000 right now.....it was the same with college for the most part.....he got hit with about a hundred four team parlays on usc ov and tex ov...etc.......today he called me and told me all his players had three team parlayed the favorites today and they teased all three favorites and almost everyone had the broncos and the over....i hear ya guys it is the most amazing thing i have ever seen just look in the paper and see who has a better record and play them no matter what the points lol

I swear this is no kidding...............I have a good friend who has lost lots of $$$$ the last 25 years in betting. You know the type........only favs........only Favs on the ML never dogs.........plays all the games of the yr that all of the services even offer.........year after year he loses thousands. Except the last 6 weeks he is up over 30 grand with his largest wager being $1000.........he just cant seem to lose no matter what.........he had Dallas big last week......a few weeks back he had Seattle on the ML big when dipshit giants kicker missed 3 fgs.........he had KC a month back on the ML vs the Raiders when they scored on the last play..........it just goes on and on...........He is the biggest square around and he probably will have his first winning season in 25 yrs.............so this season is just plain crazy.

If I were a bookie I would just add 3 points to every line and call it good.........if you still want the favs its going to cost you.......

The bookies have been getting torched this year in the NFL. MLB was none too kind either. Some of the offshore sites even lowered the fav number near kickoff seemingly pretending that the wiseguys are playing the dog. The little guys aren't biting, with local books getting creamed. Strange year.

So the favorites went 3-0 on Saturday.

The underdogs went 9-4 last week.

What does that have to do with today?

Granted this year has seen more favorites covering than in recent memory, but the bottom line is this:

You still have to handicap the games. Make plays where there is value. The fact that the Patroits and Giants covered as favorites Saturday afternoon does not enhance Buffalo's chances in the nightcap because they are underdogs.

Way too many folks pulling their hair out spending hours trying to handiap the services (play or fade)

Better yet - way, way, way too many trying to handicap Joe Public (play or fade)

Personally, I dont care if Im betting favorites or underdogs. Just winners.

Good luck getting a decent Colts line around here the last 3 years. Thank goodness for offshores. Last week -9.5 everywhere when the line was 8. I dont blame them either, they didnt want people teasing them down to under 3.
