offer me different lines via the computer than another person ?

i made a bet on a bowl game a few days ago & then when i checked the lines this morning, i noticed that they raised the line by 1/2 point on that game.....they are the only one that did this...

so my question is....

eventhough i place my bets with the computer...can they offer different lines to different people ?

i know books can do it via phone betting...but can it also be done via the computer ?

thanks..

I would think so. If I was running a book I sure as hell would. You have a database full of plays for a customer, do a little data mining to figure out his tendencies or maybe even match his plays up to a service. Seems like you could call a buddy and get him to go their site and see if you get the same lines.

I'm pretty sure Gameday came right out an admitted they did that a few years ago.

WSEX is the only one i can say for certain does, but would guess that others do also.

proof from WSEX was logging on to two different accounts at the same time, and we got different lines. one of us a notorious dog player, and the other a fav. player.

Many books do this. A friend of mine works for a book and claims that sometimes a player will get flagged as sharp after betting on only 2 or 3 dogs.

I got dealt different lines on CRIS last year too. Doesn't seem to be happening this year though.

I cannot say for sure about different lines, but Ive seen a different interface at certain books.

Meaning that the software offers... well lets say for instance a different, lighter colored background. This happened after a series of consecutive withdrawls over a peroid of a few months. This isnt a mom + pop book but a major one. An affiliate of this site.

Personally, I dont track myself enough to see any tendencies on playing dogs or favorites. Just play what the game dictates and compare your line to the books line.

If a certain book is shading my lines one way or the other, then you take the better line available at another book. Simple. Why would anyone take 7 when you can have 7' is beyond me. Now that Im thinking about it perhaps its a good thing to have books try and inch the line one way or the other. Meaning that the more options on different lines, the better my chances of taking the best line and making it work. Sometimes you lay the points and sometimes you're taking. If a book wants to try and guess what side Im leaning on, well, they need more luck than I do.

books will do anything to get a player to bet a dog in the nfl this year. they won't dual line you on a dog bet this year.

but yes it has happened, and yes it still happens at some places.
