Arkansas St./So. Miss. under 51: I don't see Arkansas St. scoring more than once or twice in this game. The Sun Belt was really bad this year, even by Sun Belt standards and So. Miss should win this game easily. But, they are not explosive enough to cover this number on their own. Look for a 35-10 type game.

Toledo -3 over UTEP: There are still some 2.5's out there and a lot of 3's at -105 but we'll call it 3. A lot of times these type of bowl games are decided on motivation. Some teams want to be there and some teams don't. I think this is the case here. The Rockets had to sweat out a bowl bid and will be looking to show it was deserved. UTEP (Using Texas' Extra Players?) can't be too excited about traveling to Mobile for a bowl game (of course it might be better than staying in El Paso). Both teams are capable of scoring points but the Rockets have better balance. Tim Rose has done a good job with the defense and the extra prep time will enable him to come up with a solid plan to slow down Palmer. I think Amstutz will have Toledo ready to go and will cover the small chalk.

GL BG. Stay on a roll. I'm just not comfortable with this game. I can see it going either way. But thanks for the analysis. As always, it's top notch.

Monday bowl pick:

Monday bowl pick:

Memphis -5 over Akron: Akron is pretty happy to be in a bowl after pulling out the MAC Championship game. But, I don't think they have the horses to hang with Memphis. DeAngelo Williams is a handful and I think he will eventually get his yards against the Zip defense. 28-17 Memphis.

I also like Navy and Kansas laying FGs but not enough to make them a play.

Friday bowl pick

Friday bowl pick

Houston/Kansas over 47: Better grab this quick because it is creeping up. Kansas should be able to score against a mediocre Houston defense and Houston will be throwing the ball all over the place which will make the game longer. Houston has gone over this number 9 out of the last 10 games. Kansas hasn't scored as much but they aren't going against a Big 12 defense tonight. They are much better offensively with Swanson at QB even though he has thrown 10 interceptions. If he is going to do that, at least we can hope it is a pick 6. This game should be close and in the high 20's to low 30's.
