Happy Holidays everyone - hope everyone is having a safe and relaxing weekend.

I've been looking at this game and I truly believe the wrong team here is favored. I think the oddsmakers are looking at the Ravens defense (5th in the NFL) and also looking at the Vikings defense (22nd in the NFL) and came up with this line because the offense's are similar (on paper). It also helped that the Ravens smashed the Packers on National Television last week.

The Vikings are by NO means a powerhouse but when looking at the Ravens victories, you come up with wins against the Jets, Cleveland, PITTSBURGH, Houston and Green Bay. I cannot see the Ravens beating a team that is hungry and desperate for a playoff spot.

IF the Vikings can score early, I dont think the Ravens will come from behind. In addition, IF the Ravens do win, I see it being a field goal game so

My Pick: Vikings +3 (Even)

Good Luck To All!

Surely the line may be a little inflated, but disagree that the wrong team is favored. Let's account a 3pt edge for home field. We will also factor in the beating of the Pack on MNF. Let's also keep in mind the Vikings 18-3 loss to the Steelers:
Minnesota gained 54 yds on the ground, and 131 in the air. Pittsburgh's aggressive defense beat them up all day; The Ravens team, although inconsistent, tends to come out for the TV games.
So, as a base to our 3pt price as the home team, let's add 2pts to Baltimore after their MNF game. Let's also drop Minny 1.5 pts in the public's perception. I'll line Baltimore as a 6.5 pt. pick, and lay the 3.
The Vikings will need a lot of help as well as a win here. 21-7 Baltimore.

I believe GB offensive line is worn down and "Da Bears" will be in Favre's face all night, with a couple of turnovers because of this. Believe Chicago might even score an offensive touchdown or 2. Good Luck to all on this one.

hogman - good points but I really think the Vikings offense will be able to put more than 7 points on the board. My money will be on the Vikings - think they will bounce back from last weeks game against the Steelers.

Good Luck To All!

And who have the Vikings beat, right- nobody. Minnesota struggles immensely with good defenses that utilize lots of blitzing. There offense is below average at best, even when they beat the Jintsj, I believe they only had slightly more than 125yds. of total offense. Baltimore or nothing on this one for me!

FYI - Minnesota is 0-4 straight up and 1-3 against the spread in cold weather cities over its last three Decembers.

Boller and Heap are clicking and that's loosening up the run lanes. I'm on Bal in a three-team ML parlay.
