ok.....just curious if any other madjackers have gone through what I've gone through......yes I know there is worse.....but check this out :cursin:

leave Saskatoon to Toronto (not exactly a short flight 3.5 hours)..........then land...drive 4 hours to Grandma/Grampa....spend one night...leave morning.......drive 4 hours back to Toronto....spend time with my father and step-mom, uncle, etc.......get 3 hours sleep........get on train for 3 hours.............arrive at Mom's place........then find out her Satellite dish is blocked by the 975 meters of snow outside :cursin:

proceed to climb on roof and knock off snow......after my heroic effort.....shovel driveway the size of the Indy speedway........ :cursin:

then finally get to sit on couch........3 days....exhausted....merry x-mas :mj07:

oh and have another 3 hour train ride ahead of me and of course the 4 hour plane ride......sheeeesh :mj07:

whatever happened to laying around.....going to bed...waking up...seeing Santa...then laying around some more :bump:

but hey...could be worse...I could have fallen off the roof :mj07:

ive got a question concerning christmas and family. my girlfriend left me to go see her family in texas. i have no family where i live. i wanted to go see my 8 yr old daughter open presents from santa at my ex's house ( 1.5 hr drive from the house). i spent the night in the back room on a blow up mattress, my ex inlaws where there. my girlfriend reluctantly agreed to let me go. now she is ill because i stayed later than she deemed neccessary. any opinions on this? who is in the wrong her or i?

you have to be under 30 ?

you have to be under 30 ?

am I right or wrong. If you want her,she is right. It does not matter what the facts are, she will always be right. You have two choises, kiss her ass or stand up for your self if you think your right. There is no right or wrong, air it out and move on. If this doesn't make sence and you don't get it,you are like the rest of us that don't understand women .

zeke, if your gf is going to give you flack about staying too late at your ex's house when she has a house full of family (not to mention your daughter) there, then she needs to grow up. Your daughter is very important to you, and you need to be there for those special times in her life (like opening Santa's presents). Did you give her flack for going out of state? Maybe you could ask her if she has an old bf down there?

kickserv, as to your question here was my itenerary. Christmas eve at my folks for a fantastic meal. Presents exchanged there, played games, etc. Home around 2330. Drove home (3.5 miles away), got the kids to bed, and got Santa stuff ready. Did the Santa thing and more gift exchange today, went to church (3 miles away), then back home for a country style brunch. Played with the kids all day and had a nap. Pretty easy compared to your schedule!!

hard to understand them i agree. she says go but next thing out of her mouth is jealousy blah blah. friend of mine told me i may be letting my eyes get in the way with this. i am 34 she is 23. no doubt does my ego good. wonder if the jealousy thing is due to the age. frustrating to say the least. i get her point, i am not sure i would want my significant other to spend the night at the exs. then again i never would have flown to texas and left the alone. i also think i would understand the parent-kid side as well. my parents divorced when i was 11, and i DO NOT have a strong relationship with my mother. i would never want my daughter to feel that way about me. thanks for the input. new years is here some resolutions may be in order for the relationship.

sixfive, i said nothing. would not keep her from her family. then again her family does not approve of me. especially her dad (here). mother is not much better in texas; at least she speaks to me.

One of the problems is this.

You're thinking logically and she's thinking emotionally. I'm not certain you'll be able to rectify your situation in her mind.

I apologize to Kickserv for hijacking his thread.. :mj22:
