What's the deal with this Saddam trial?

They're in court for one day, then take a month of. Then in court for three days and another 3 weeks off. I'm sure i've missed it, but it seems like nobody ever really explains why it's moving like this. This will take 15 years at this rate.

I don't agree w/it either, but I heard they were waiting til the iraq elections were over with. I cannot believe a person can refuse to show up for court when they are imprisioned. They would drag ur ass to court over here if u r in their jail.

The election thing makes sense. Let's see what happens after it restarts.

Yeah, this judge is getting a lot of heat for being too lenient. He's basically letting Saddam run the show.

Would we be right to say. It's just another joke in along line of them.

lmao- just sitting here shaking my head. They just had, what, 3 more days of the trial? Now I see it scrolling across the screen that they've adjourned until January 24th. I mean, really.

What difference does it make how long it takes? Hes guilty, everyone knows it. Its not like they are letting him out in between sessions.

I know that. I'm not complaining, but just asking a question out of curiousity.

That said, it doesn't really interest me to be watching the Saddam show in 2010.

I've yet to see any explanation on this anywhere. I'm mostly just interested in the procedural aspect of why they are doing it like this. It's unique to say the least.

He should have took the offer to go to Sudan or Egypt with a few million. He must think he's not guilty. And we were worried about this guy. LOL. Trial is total joke.

And Aquaman? Could he go on land or was he just restricted to water? :mj07:

Yeah, Clintons fault. Actually I haven't seen these delays attributed to anything specific.

Someone on one of the tv news channels said saddam has a legit defense bc he can claim the trial laws/rules where not in place when he commited all these crimes.
