Alright, I switched tv's around in my bedroom and now I don't have surround sound thru my receiver.....I thought the fiber optic cable was the problem, so I bought a new one and I'm getting nothing still....Its been so long since I played with those damn wires........The fiber optic cable goes from my DVD player to my receiver, is there anything else I need? Everything else works, the surround sound when I play a DVD, radio, and cds, just not when I put it to TV mode........Help me out men...

Its driving me nuts.....I remember like 2 years ago, I had to go buy a cord to hook up the tv for surround sound and I could of swore it was the fiber optic cable but I dusted off the manual and I was supplied with one, when I initially got the dvd player and receiver.

I changed the bedroom around last nite and switched tvs and no more surround sound.......I've had blue balls before but this hurts just as bad.....

If your DVD is hooked up via a fiber optic to your receiver and you have 5 speakers, you should bet getting surround sound.

I would make sure your receiver is on the surround sound setting. It should be on Dolby ProLogic or Dolby Digital etc.
