Since there are so many bowls I thought it would be easier to split my threads up by week.

Week 1 results: 3-0, +3.0 units

Memphis -4 over Akron: Akron is pretty happy to be in a bowl after pulling out the MAC Championship game. But, I don't think they have the horses to hang with Memphis. DeAngelo Williams is a handful and I think he will eventually get his yards against the Zip defense. 28-17 Memphis.

Michigan/Nebraska over 46.5: Nebraska has gone over this number 6 out of their last 8 games. Michigan is certainly capable of scoring points when Lloyd lets them and he has a tendency to loosen up the offense in bowl games. Defensively, Michigan was very average, unable to come up with the big stop when they needed (see Ohio St. game, Wisconsin game, Penn St. game and Minnesota game). They will be slightly worse playing in a minor bowl, at least by Michigan standards. Carr will have his hands full motivating this team and I could see them losing this one. Of course, they are talented enough to win big, also. The side is a toss up but the over is worth two units.

Adding...
Akron/Memphis under 53: This game opened at 49.5 and has been bet up to 53. That kind of movement is too tempting to leave alone. Akron has gone over this number 2 times in 9 games and Memphis 3 in last 8.

Michigan team total over 28: I don't expect the Wolverines to be too excited about this game but their offense should still roll. Lloyd is getting beat up pretty good in the media so I think he will show off his offensive talent. He may be forced to since his defense has trouble stopping anyone. I don't see him sitting on a lead in this game (although if Michigan runs out to a big first half lead the second half under is always a solid play). Tempted to make this a two unit play but Michigan's occasional struggles in the red zone keep it at one unit.

Independence Bowl pick

Independence Bowl pick

S. Carolina/Missouri over 51: This total opened at 51 and hasn't moved at all. I was hoping that some of the low scores in S. Carolina's recent games would have lowered this a bit. Neither team is going to be too interested in stopping the other in this game. Brad Smith will be looking to showcase his talent and the Gamecocks will struggle to control him. The Old Ball Coach knows he can't run it so he will be throwing all over the place making for a long game with plenty of possessions. Mitchell averages 7.6 yards per attempt which tells you he will test Missouri deep. I like Carolina for the side if it gets to 3 but I like the over much better.

Tulsa +8 over Fresno St.: Fresno really played poorly at the end of the year getting badly outrushed and giving up tons of points. Tulsa is a pretty good team. They can run the ball and they seem to compete in every game. This game has all the makings of a shootout between two fairly even teams. I'll take the points.
