Step up and take the classes and work your way up the ladder from Pee-Wee ball to junior high then Frosh or JV games at $35/$45 a game driving 20 miles to a game. Then onto the big time you can be their replacement in about 10 years,.. give or take a couple.

Bottom line everyone complains but no one wants to officiate.

181 yards rushing by the Cornshuckers tells me the difference in this game. Remember the Sugar Bowl when FSU made the Buckeyes look like duds? What was it 1998 I think?

The Seminoles were allowing 1.9 yards per rush.

Not trying to bust your chops just stating the facts!

No defense, no win!

Best of luck!

What idiot said " Hey let's hire a crew from the Sun Belt for a bowl game between two teams with names like Michigan and Nebraska.."

Let's get a crew that is used to seeing FIU and Fla. Atlantic battle.
Makes sense. Add in that the Sun Belt did not even use replay this season so these guys were clueless as to the whole thing.

Exactly what I posted in the bowl thread. You've got guys who aren't even remotely used to seeing this kind of talent or crowd officiating a bowl game with these two teams. You could tell they didn't have a clue when it came to looking at instant replay. And with all due respect to Geno, last time I checked, when those officials walk on the field, they open themselves up to any and all criticism. I don't care if they started at the Pee Wee level and worked 15 years to get where they are at. You could tell they were lost on several of the calls this evening and there is no excuse for that. They did a pathetic job. Don't even get me started on Lloyd Carr and his Michigan team. That's who was truly pathetic tonight.

Iagree-I was at the game. Fumble by neb. in the first half was an obvious fumble and no replay. How does replay work in college?Who makes the call? They were not decisive on calls-never blew the whistle to end plays. They never took CHARGE. Very weak Officials.

Roll Tide, didn't see much of the game but what I did see it was unacceptable work. It simply barks my skin to hear everyone bitch and no one do anything.

Have you ever heard someone in here after losing a wager say:

Dagblast it those officials are terrible and I know I can do a better job, I am gonna sign up for classes next summer and become a great offical ?

I haven't LOL !

I did not ask to sign up and did not sign up. I do not want to be an official. Like any job do it right-they signed up, they get paid, they need to take responsibility. Just like any job. They flat out stunk.

I didn't catch it during the original broadcast, but while getting ready for work this morning, the game was rebroadcast and I was listening to the last 2 minutes unfold. After Michigan turned the ball over on downs, Herbstreet said that it was a "tough night for the officials." Then, when Nebraska is set to punt it away on 4th down with seconds to go, Tirico makes the comment that "this is one of the worst officiated games I have ever seen." This is not just sour grapes from a fan or gambler. When both commentators make statements like that, you know it was a POORLY officiated game.

I can truely understand blowing a judgement call i.e. the last play where obviious pass interference was made. But the failure to use the replay for which it was intented (making the correct call) was an embarrassment to college football. Pure fact !

I didn't have a cent on the game. . . nor a dog in the fight (see my avatar), so I didn't care who won. I just like seeing a good game where the refs are there to call it fairly. It looked to me that they were clueless from the get-go. From the obvious fumble in the first quarter to the 'no call' pass interference in the endzone on Michigan's last possession (actually the next to last possession), the refs looked like fish out of water. The refs topped off their performance by standing and watching as the entire Nebraska team walked out to the midfield logo as the last play unfolded. I was hoping Michigan would score just to see if the refs would have reviewed the play on replay. That might have taken another 2 hours. :scared

They did do a very chitty job, but Michigan played like chit as well and that was the difference in the game. I guess I got to give credit where credit is due to the Big 12 and Nebraska. Just like in the past, the Big Ten has produced some *CRAP* teams with winning records.

I'm not one to complain about the officials, but that was the worst officiated bowl game I have ever seen. Michigan got fawked! Plus, it cost me about 700.00 in the pocket. The instant replay is suppose to help the officials... Jesus.

What gets under my skin is this statement. You're admitting that you didn't see the game. Yet, anybody who saw the game knows Michigan got fawked. Before you comment maybe you should ask what happened.

It's time to take a break. Was on 2 Carolina teases on Sat and then on Mich for the last of a 3 team tease. Were they the Same Ref's? How do you not throw a flag on the kick return? I know I was begging but 51 men on the field is 51 men on the field. CASE CLOSED.

DIRTY I am not gonna go on and on with this with you, BUT your statement " You're admitting that you didn't see the game" is NOT what I said! What I did say was " Roll Tide, didn't see much of the game but what I did see it was unacceptable work."

Let me detail it for you Double D, I saw all of the first quarter, and the last 8 minutes of the fourth! I also listened to the 4th from 10:16 down to 8 when I walked into the house and watched the rest. I agree the Replay situation was wrong. I even saw one official (Umpire) who was either clueless or missed the fumble look at the Referee for a ruling. There was more I just wanted to correct your critique of my statement.

Before you comment maybe you should read what I typed!

Geno - I agree with most of what you said. Good teams overcome bad officiating and it becomes annoying when people always complain about it. Michigan should have put the game away when they had them on the ropes. Last time I bet on the skunkbears with Carr on the sidelines.

Mich did get fawked in some calls by the refs but to blow a 11 point lead going into the fourth isn't just the refs fault...Mich just kept turning the ball over which cost them the game...Carr's days are numbered

Bottom line is UM should never have blown an 11 point 4th Qtr. lead. Nebraska should never have been in the game. It was a lousy performance by the Michigan players and staff, no doubt. Having said that, there were just TOO MANY mistakes made by the officials that affected the outcome. Michigan couldn't stop the clock at the end of the game because Carr had burned two timeouts just to get the officials to review questionable plays. Throw in the missed fumble call in the 1st Qtr., the missed pass interference call on 4th down, the obvious penalty of 50+ Nebraska players on the field on the game's final play and you have some very shoddy officiating.
