...I am going to bite on Senor's Chiefs laying 9 points to the Bungles....
1) Obviously, KC got the thunderbolt of life yesterday when SD went down against Denver. True, they need a win and ALOT of help from Detroit, but still, they have something very tangible to play for.
2) Cincinnati is DEFINITELY playng next week. No shot of a bye in that first round. Palmer is already listed as questionable, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if several other big-timers play a few series and bow out. The game is 'meaningless' (into that in a minute..), so why risk injury...?
3) The Chiefs December home streak... Nobody goes into Arrowhead late season (yeah, I know it's technically January) and beats KC in their joint.
4) Possible last hurrah for the wildly popular Dick Vermeil. If this is his last game, the entire organization is going to want to send him out properly.
and the most important reason.....
5) I believe Cincinnati WANTS to lose this game. If all things fall as expected, Pitt will get the 6 seed...and Jax is already locked into the 5. If Cincy wins, they will get the 3 seed, and match up in the first round with Pittsburgh (who already went into Cincy and beact them once.) Lose, and get a probable game against Jacksonville---a warm weather team with serious quarterback issues.
Who would you rather play in the first round??? A Florida team in your house where it's likely to snow...or a hated division rival?
