Texas had more penalty yards than SC.

Texas had more fumbles...both lost 1.

Texas converted 3-11 while SC converted 8-14.

The 3 plays I was talking about happened inside deep in Texas territory. 3 FG's = 9pts. 3 TD's =21pts. 9-21pts.

Lets say USC just scored 3pts off those 3 possessions. Instead of QB sneak, Leianrt INT, and BUSH gift, USC puts knee on ground and kicks 1 fg and misses 2 FG's. (WORST CASE SCENARIO outside of going 0/3)Then USC and Texas are playing in OT (unless Texas doesn't convert the 2pt conversion which would have then had big meaning)

I said Texas screwed themselves out of 4pts.

All in all USC fawked themselves BIG TIME in 1h and it cost them a NC. Texas costing themselves 4pts almost cost them a NC as well. Goes both ways. USC fawked themselves worse.

How about the potential 14 point swing at the start of the game when Texas went from having great field position and likely going in, to giving SC the ball at midfield (which went on to score its only TD of the first half)?

The fact is, SC played two elite level teams this year and was played to a stand still both times. Lost one, won one. SC was not a team for a the ages, simple a very good team with a great offense and vastly overrated defense.

Congratulations to Texas team, Mack Brown and their fans. Especially Texas fans at this site. Both teams should be congratulated for a hard fought championship caliber game. USC lost the game to a very special player in Vince Young. I now know how other teams felt when Reggie Bush was making them look bad............it happens. Same with Leinart.

Surprisingly I don't feel bad about this loss. (sad I am but in a proud way) I knew USC was eventually going to lose, (i just hoped it was next year) but this is the type of game I wanted USC to lose. ND this year was one of them too. Both teams competed and both deserved to win. Fans should be proud of both teams.

It was a hell of a run. Few teams in D1A have won 34 in a row. USC makes that first down the game is over, but it was not to be. That's football.

The USC seniors gave me the best four years of Trojan football that I have ever experienced. I could not be any prouder of this USC team. What they have done is unreal and I have enjoyed the ride. I look forward to next year's season.

I'll post my opinion/analysis on the game etc. but after I watch the game again on TV. You miss a lot of things watching game live. I also have not looked at all the threads at this site but will enjoy looking at them later tonight or tom. morning. Might take me a while to read it but it will be fun. I just wanted to post my congrats to the Texas Longhorns the new CFB NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!
