From what I've read, since the NFL has gone to 12 playoff teams, a 5th or 6th seeded team has NOT even made it to the SB. That being said, we eliminate PIT, JAX, CAR and WAS. Of the 8 remaining teams the top 4 to win it all: IND-115, SEA+550, DEN+700 and NE+850. I'm thinking take SEA and NE, and then look for a chance to hedge. IND at -115, they have to win it all before I will ever believe in them, they seem to find a way to lose in the playoffs. Any opinions??

Since the advent of the 12-team format, which went into effect in 1990, no fifth or sixth seed has ever advanced to the Super Bowl. In fact, only two such teams ? the ?95 Colts and the ?96 Jaguars ? made it to the conference championship game. Here is a breakdown of the frequency with which the various seeds have reached the Super Bowl over the last 15 years:

Seed SB Winners SB Losers Total
#1 . 8 . 7 . 15
#2 . 5 . 5 . 10
#3 . 0 . 1 . 1
#4 . 2 . 2 . 4
#5 . 0 . 0 . 0
#6 . 0 . 0 . 0
