2-1 in the NFL last week and I like one Play that I played Small for now:
Pittsburgh Steelers -3
Over Bengals
The line opened at -3 and I was tempted to hit it then but was waiting for some Bengals action to move the line down to under -3 because of the Home Dog theory but it hasn?t happened?I?ve never been a big fan of going against a Home dog in the Playoffs but just the reminder that Defense wins Championships is enough for me to make this play?the mismatch in this one is the Steelers big and physical offensive line and running game going against a Bengals ?D? that has struggled against the run this season?in the teams first meeting in Cincy the Steelers ran the ball?controlled the line of scrimmage and won the game?in the second game in Pitt?Pitt dominated in time of possession and in total yards 474-324 but lost the game because they committed 4 turnovers and allowed a special teams TD?IF this game were being played in Pitt I?d stay away from it because the Steelers are a Better team on the road then they are at home?Cincy is just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Home games?while Pittsburgh has won 13 of their last 14 road games SU?Pitt is also 4-0 SU in their last 4 trips to Cincy and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 road tilts?the VISITOR is on a 14-5 ATS run in Pittsburgh games and is 19-4-1 ATS in Cincy games?Bottom Line?I?ll lay the small-3 with a Steelers team that has the trends on their side?a much better Defense? and the fact that they have been spectacular on the road over the last 2 seasons while the Bengals have struggled to cover the number at home?oh?before I forget?the Steelers also have Playoff experience on their side!
Pittsburgh 27 Cincinnati 20
I will be adding another play this week.
