Vick Facing Charges of Brandishing a Firearm in Suffolk

Marcus Vick turned himself into the Suffolk Magistrate's Office Monday around 2:30pm on three counts of brandishing a firearm.

Police say after 9:00pm Sunday they received a call from the parent of a 17-year-old. The parent stated that Vick had pointed a gun at her son and two others during an altercation in the McDonald's parking lot. The incident allegedly happened at the McDonald's on Townpoint Road in Suffolk.

Police responded to the scene, interviewed witnesses, and issued three misdemeanor warrants.

Vick, 21, is being held on a $10,000 bond. If Vick is convicted, he could face up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine.

Friday, Vick was dismissed from the Virginia tech football program for his unsportsmanlike conduct during the second quarter of the Gator Bowl January 2.

It was also disclosed Friday, that Vick had been stopped for speeding and driving with a revoked or suspended license on December 17, 2005. Vick's license was taken away in August 2004 when he was cited for reckless driving and marijuana possession.

Vick announced Saturday that he was planning to enter the NFL draft for next season.

Sheesh......comparing to Kobe and AI? Sorry but I don't think either of those guys have criminal records nor do I classify them as thugs. In fact, AI is suppose to be a role model father except for the Rap life-style chit. The problem with media exploitation is not so much the content but with the fact that some people are actually persuaded by speculated conclusions.

FWIW....OJ and Tyson were guilty.

AI pulls gun on bro in law (isnt this what Vick did--hmm), crowns people with chairs, served time .. kobe innocent? yeah right--porking chick with wife within earshot and pregnant, thats role model material ... i guess you love gunners and selfish players ... OJ only guilty in civil suit, i guess he was OK then in eyes of real courtroom drama and cochrane genius ... again, whats your point? AI role model, denouncing women in CD etc ... Kobe has history of not even gathering with team in pregame huddle in concourse and came in seperate from team to own acclaim and cheers--I think PJ just loved coaching him first time around; Shaq and Kobe dont even talk, and 99% of nba players love shaq, is % the same for Kobe admiration? .... it amazes me who people admire and why

Thanks for the post Judge, I'm sure you are shocked as we all are about the news. How could such a fine institution get mixed up with the likes of Vick. I was reading the other day that Coach Beamer was going to put his foot down and give him one more chance. What a waste,to bad, they were looking at another big bowl payday next year. Alb,you are absolutely right, what a loser and I agree with you 100%,any team in the NFL that takes him would be losers to, as long as it's not any team that we root for and he helps us win a bet. We don't even have to think about that because the NFL has such high standards and ethics. Alb you are right on today, how can anyone compare this guy to Kobe? All Kobe did was have sex with a young women that wasn't his wife and he may have raped her;allegedly. Tyson was found guilty in a court of law,Kobe never went to trial,we all know in rape cases,if the court says it so it's so. Just ask William Kennedy Smith. Then there is OJ,well it depends what country your from,If you are from the USA,are you black or white, conservative or liberal, young or old. It's funny how people see what they want, why factor in the facts.

Pt1gard;
You are proving my point about speculations and conclusions based on media exploitation not facts.
AI got into trouble in high school....in his neighbourhood who didn't. Dubious accusations from other thugs (like his brother-in-law)? Carrying a gun for protection.....the nerve for a guy in his position to be worried about his and his family's safety (granted he was stupid for not having a permit). His lyrics????.....who cares and he apologised to women and gays who may be offended. Don't hear many others do that. All Rap is offensive and yet nobody apologises to me.
OK he's had attitude/maturity problems in the past and I'm not his lawyer....but I was trying to make a point about the media.
Kobe's fling is between him, his family and the chick who made millions. Maybe he was guilty....then again maybe not.

Nothing to do with Marijuana should ever be held against a person while it is okay for people to smoke cancer sticks that in turn puts a massive strain on health care costs which is paid for by other non-smoking tax-payers.

Now I've gotten political.

I'm an Iverson and Sixers fan, but he has served time and has several weapons charges. I'm not saying he's a hardened criminal, but you can throw role model out the window. Most likely carries a record too. FWIW

What I actually said was good role model father.....he's suppose to be good with his kids. As far as I know, he had only 1 conviction for possession of a firearm without a permit. But point taken and I'll put this to rest now.

I just hate media influencing facts......more so when people believe it.
