OK Mountaineers--- Against Texas, Oklahoma, and Nova you showed quite well, but it's a lot easier to play when you are loose as a goose and no one expects you to compete. Tonight, you are a favorite, against a team you are expected to beat, three days after closing out Nova in their place. Tonight, you are ranked 16th in the country..... We saw it last week, albeit on the road, when the Mountaineers struggled to close out the mighty Bulls from South Florida. I expect the same tonight. The three's from 25 feet will not be falling quite like they do when you have absolutely nothing to lose. Gtown runs the spread 'em out- hit 'em backdoor offense as well, is familiar with guarding it, and has the athletes to chase the Mounties around all night. Pittsnogle will undoubtedly give Hibbert trouble on the perimeter, so I expect to see limited minutes from Roy H. and probably Bowman guarding Pittsnogle.... That is, of course, unless John Thompson III chooses to zone up on WVU. Cook and Owens on the perimeter can shoot and penetrate, Bowman is the do everything guy-- and Green and Hibbert in the paint. Admitedly, quality depth is an issue for the Hoyas, but they do have athletes to thrown in there. Don't expect turnovers to be a problem tonight for gtown as they have numerous potential ballhandlers. All in all, I like this Hoya team, and I know they will be coached up well and ready to play tonight. I do not trust the Mountaineers as a favorite and feel they will exposed a bit this evening.
