Sony's KLVS40A10 40" BRAVIA? (is it a good buy)

need help from my fellow madjackers...
been offered brand new with a 4 yr warranty the Sony's KLVS40A10 40" BRAVIA
for 3000 canadaian with taxes included and the extended warranty included...
future shop has it for 3000 with only a 1 yr warranty..
- is this a good deal for this tv..

What are you going to be usuing the TV for viewing....computer, sports, movies?? and how far away and what angles are you going to be viewing from are all considerations in your purchase

I purchased a 42" Panasonic Plasma about 4 months ago for about 2700 USD...if you're looking at a 40" LCD you're most likely in the price range of a 50" Plasma...I prefer plasma to LCD for a number of reasons
