playoff record.....3-3....+4.05*

i haven't decided on who i'm playing yet, but here is an angle that i picked up in my travels from a successful capper.....

play against any playoff team that won last week (a playoff game), but allowed 21 or more pts in that win.

This angle is 17-4-1 ats (80.9%) playing
against that team since 1995, including 1-0 last year after indy lost to new england after beating Denver 49-24.....

play against carolina....

good luck

here is another angle that i came across....

play againstany team that is on the road for at least 3 consecutive weeks.

Record: 23-8 (74%)

If opponent is .800 or better the record moves to 7-1 including a win this weekend with seattle.

both seattle and denver are .800 or better.

good luck.

carolina has been amazing on the road the last 3 years.....however they got really beat up in the bears game (as did the bears....guy's out there who had no business playing in the playoffs but that's what happens when 5 starters go down in one game)...

foster is out and that leaves goings as the only rb and peppers didnt return (but should play).....i also think morgan was out for a while but returned vs chicago

like carolina as well but injuries are a concern

AR, Thanks for posting your angle plays. I read one last year that said to play against the team that bets the previous superbowl team in the playoffs, which would be a play against Denver. Do you have any on this angel?

Hello AR182..

Both of the angles you have posted come directly out of Phil Steel's pro football scorebook which is a handy tool that alot of peope use (myself included) because it contains alot of team data from previous years as well as tons of angles and systems.

Don't be shy about crediting Steel for the info, I personally do not subscribe to his service but as mentioned above I do purchase his pro and college scorebooks each and every year for research purposes.

Here is a "Perfect trend" that comes directly from Phil's scoreboard:

"Play against the team that knocks off the Super Bowl Champs in the playoffs if their following game is not the Super Bowl"....from 1982 to 2004 this trend is 100%.

take care and be well

Wow, that is a strong trend JC. Been struggling to side either way in the pitt/denv game but that little stat is hard to go-against. Think it's a flip of the coin game myself so getting more than a FG looks quite decent imo. Should be a hell of a game.

I don't think AR is trying to take credit for any of these trends he comes across, I think none of us really care how he comes across these trends....but we sure as hell appreciate him posting these trends for us all to read week in and week out....
if your post was meant to bash AR, take your shiet elsewhere....if not, my apologies...

jcam....

although i get steele's newsletter (i get many), i don't buy his scorebook, so the above angles are not from his publications.....

they're from different people who post on other sites & i'm pretty sure that they develpoed their angles on their own....

i hope people realize that i haven't developed these systems & angles myself....when i post angles i usually state that i get them from another site or from a newsletter.....i don't list the name of the newsletter because i'm not getting paid to advertise their business & why give them free publicity......

lor....

according to a newsletter that i read.....

teams who have eliminated the defending super bowl champs in their previous game are...

0-7 su/ats in their next game......

but i don't know if i would put too much stock in this sytem now because denver had beaten the pats during the regular season & the euphoria of beating them again was probably diminished....

i wonder out of the above 7 teams if a team had beaten the champs during the regular season....

rcxslam,

thanks.....i appreciate it.....

again i'll state that these are not my systems & i have never taken credit for them.....

Hello Rcxslam...

With all due respect sir YOU need to jump off your high horse and re-read posts submitted by others before jumping to unfounded conclusions my friend.

First of all, I NEVER accused AR182 of "Trying to take credit" for anything, hell's fire he said himself in HIS post that he had obtained the angles from another handicapper.

Secondly, I answered LOR's question concerning the trend revolving around a team defeating the previous years Super Bowl Champion, which by the way is 8-0 straight up and ATS since 1982 and in doing so gave credit where credit is due.

I can understand you "thinking" that you were coming to the aid of someone you admire but I really hope you will take my suggestion to heart with regard to not being so damn quick on the trigger and in the futurre re-read the posts of others before you take a leap, that's good advice on any forum and its good advice in real life.

take care and be well

Absolutely agree with JCam on his explanation and also with ar about where he gets his trends. The sites or cappers that put out trends all have to get them form somewhere whether they credit who it came from or not.

A trend is a trend is a trend meaning you can state it many different ways and I'm sure more than one guy has the same trends, so lets not get into a hizzzy fit just because JCam mentioned he knows these trends from Phil Steele. Oh I said a nasty name for some because this guy has a service and we all know that ALL SERVICES ARE A RIPOFF. As most of you know that's absurd.

I also get Steel'es newsletter for info and it helps my handicapping tremendously.

So I know JCam was not bashing just giving out info like Ar always does and all the info given out is much appreciated which this site is known for,

i didn't take jcam's post as a knock on me.....

i post these angles when i have time on my hands....it's just my way of contributing to the forum.....

sometimes it's hard to interpret somebody's meaning on these forums......& that is why in rcxslam's post he apologized in advance if his interpretation was incorrect....no harm no foul...

let's drop it & talk football....

the steele newsletter states that the system is 8-0 against teams who have beaten last years superbowl winner while another newsletter that, imo is equal to powersweep states the system is 7-0......don't thnk it matters though...the point is made...

but i would like to hear thoughts about if we should much credence into this angle because denver did beat n.e. during the regular season & maybe the euphoria of beating the defending champ is not as great......

Hello AR182..

Thank you very much for realizing that my intention was NOT to attack or knock you in any way, with regard to how the team that defeat's the previous years Super Bowl Champ works out....I agree with you in that its a tough call.

Personally I think the line is too low and should be Denver -4 or maybe -5 when considering that Pittsburgh was a 10 point doggie at the #1 seed last week and is now at the #2 seed, what worries me about Pittsburgh is that they are playing on the road for the 3rd straight week and are also on the road for the 5th time in the past 6 weeks.

With that being said, Pittsburgh might just be this year's "Team of Destiny" when considering they are making their 2nd straight appearance in the AFC Championship game and have now posted a record of 29-7 straight up in their last 36 games.

Take care my friend and be well

Jim

Hello wareagle...

My appologies, I didn't realize that I had not posted the record of the trend, so here it is again..

"Play against the team that knocks off the Super Bowl Champs in the playoffs if their following game is not the Super Bowl".....this system is 8-0 straight up and ATS since 1982.

take care and be well
