Thought sure Seattle would open up about a 4 1/2 pt. favorite. Time to rethink.

Don't know about other Offshores, but one of mine (Millenium) had a line out over the bowl games of NFC +10' :) Pretty hard for them to justify now giving Pitt +4'. Only wish now I had taken the NFC for more than I did. As it is now I will be on the Steelers -3(-) and go for that sweet touchdown middle. Will have a little more on the Steelers. GL to all of you. Should be a good one :mj14:

I would lay 7 on pittsburgh

That much faith in AFC over NFC

Seattle reminds me of the Raiders that got stomped by a team that hit its defensive stride at the right time, Tampa Bay. The real superbowl that season was in Philly, when Tampa upset philly. Pittsburgh got that kind of win at Indy

Pittsburgh is on a run right now. They beat better teams to get here, AND did it ALL ON THE ROAD

Totally agree....Pitt -7 easy....Pitt's D will get to Hassel back and Polamalu will keep the recievers honest.

Note: For the comment about home field adv:

Detroit is a 4 hour drive and Mich is same time zone (Eastern) Distance for fans for Pitt, and Distance for Seattle fans....No comparison, unless everyone from Seattle is planning on flying and paying 300 for airfare + thier 500-800 dollar superbowl ticket...

Also lets not forget about what Pitt did against Detroit in the dome....And to Indy in the Dome, and to Minnesota....I think they played Minn at Minn but could be wrong

Fans are going to be 4-1 meaning 4X as many Pitt fans....

----------

Also for the comment about Time zone and managing a team....

Obviously that comment is wrong and they have never played on a collegiate traveling team or professional traveling team....

Seattle is not going to take a field trip to Detroit for a week and let their players get soft. Are they going to do laps around the hotel parking lot? And if you do think they will, where are they going to train, are they going to compete for field time with Pittsburgh getting their a week early....DON"T THINK SO....

Seattle will train all week, and get there 2 at the most 3 days before the superbowl....Prolly 2 days to rest, review film, and have meetings 3 times a day, and yes prolly stretch and lightly condition somewhere....

And as the saying goes....for every hour you lose or gain through the air takes a day to get use to. I would be surprised if they get thier 4 days in advance. Either way these football players biological clock is all screwed up....

Pittsburgh will drive in thier bus, or either fly a couple days in advance and make sure they are ready..... And again

NFC stands for No Freaking Chance....This line will move about 1.5 to 2 points in favor of Pitt unless something gets leaked out that a player is hurt or something....(just a prediction)

GL with everyones plays

-Bettis playing in Detroit makes absolutely no difference in Pitt's ability to run the ball and/or Seattle's ability to stop the run...the Seahawks run D is very solid

-that wasn't the case last season...I believe NE didn't cover the points...but I think your right about favorites usually win but do they cover? Does anyone have a stat for that?

-Its not like Seattle is flying in the night before the game. They will have plenty of time to get used to the time zone. And what evidence do you have that Seattle plays bad against East coast teams they went 6-2 against East Coast teams this season. Excluding the last three games because they had home field wrapped up. One of the East Coast losses were Wash and well they beat Wash when it mattered the most. And to get to the SB they had to beat two east coast teams.

-then why even play the game let's just give Pitt the SB trophy and be done with it

I'm not going to argue the fact that Pitt will have more fans then Seattle but that aspect of the game is more then obvious. And I still haven't made up my mind on my play just yet so I am backing neither team, but most of your logic of why Pitt wins is somewhat questionable

Is that what you said last year when New-England was the favorite???? I hope not

you are wrong..standard NFL rules. teams get there several days to a week before, have media day, practice etc, this isnt anything new...is there anyone that doesnt know this? nobody is bussing in two days before the game, etc, and the practices are usually at local fields, not on the game field...they usually get one walk through on the game field

since media day is on tuesday, i'm assuming that the teams will be in det by monday at the latest........6 + days before the game.

if im correct (and i know i am because im being sarcastic here) it's been this way forever.......

however, you are correct in that there will be 3-4x as many steeler fans there

No...actually played Philly...but seriously thinking Pitt is just going to be able to run the ball just because Bettis is from Detroit is retarded along with Seattle doesn't play good against East Coast teams...Hey, I just questioned your logic with some of your top five reasons or whatever that was

Vegas Baby !!
I think that Pitt is the choice in this one.

Seattle's road to the SuperBowl was far easier than the Steelers.

To discount the Steelers playoff win over Cincy is insane. Kitna had a 14 for 20 first half , I believe. No other QB would have done better.

Beat the "dream team of destiny", Indy. If Indy beats Pitt and DENVER, what do you think the SB line would be???

Seattle played a weaker regular season schedule.
SF twice
ARIZ twice
ST LOU twice
2, 3 & 4 point wins over: ATL, DAL, SF NYG and TENN

Seattle is 5 - 3 away from home. Losses @ GB, WASH, & JAX.

Steelers 9 - 2 on the road , with playoff wins @ DEN, INDY & Cincy.

SEA 3 -4 -1 ATS AWAY from home
PITT 9-2 ATS AWAY from home

Only 1 team in the last 10 weeks was able to out produce PITT on the field. That was INDY.

Seattle was out-yardaged 3 times in the last 10 games, and less than 50 yards better , 4 additional times.

So, 7 out of last 10 games , they were out gained , or with-in 50 yards of being outgained.

Seattle has had a good year, but hasn't been a dominate team, even against a less than stellar schedule.

Pittsburgh is on a mission. They have a swagger that punch Seattle in the mouth, from the kickoff. Seattle hasn't seen an aggressive Cower offense.

PITT BY 9 POINTS !!

Double Down I agree completely with what your saying and I'll most likely be on Pitt considering if the line isn't through the roof with my local...but I think this game will be sort of close and somewhat low scoring considering the defense's for both teams...I am sure glad I have a while to think this one over...but Derek brings up some very good points refering back to the OAK/TB SB which was a rout

this bowl reminds me more of the balt/giant bowl game a few years ago...

giants had 2 comfortable wins at home while balt played mostly on the road....but that has nothing to do with this game...

I've seen a couple posts over the last year with the Superbowl ATS record, I recall the winner covers MOST of the time. Can't seem to find the record for the life of me though so don't quote me yet.

Dogs have taken the last four years, I think, however.
