man dude... i feel sorry for ya pengy. Nobody likes getting the digits in the ole starfish.
It could be worse though, at the ripe ole age of 20 I had a 50+ yr old doctor giving me the ole pass thru during a military exam.
He felt I had a smart mouth during the annual check up so he decided to check my prostate. I was a young Corporal at the time, he was a crusty ole Navy Captain.
And yes, he did make me call him sir.
THAT was and still is the lowest point of my life.

Got my first and only prostate exam at the ripe ol age of 24. My doc had done my wifes kidney surgery and he was about to do my vasectomy the next week so we had been friends a year or so. He said it was a good idea to have the ol prostate checked before I snipped the kiddies. I bent over the exam table, heard the glove and the jelly, felt violated, and teared up like a guy whose team lost the superbowl. Also sweated like a whore in church during the 30 seconds it took. Think I held my breath the whole time too.
Moral of the story, its not better if you know the doc, it will never be something I look forward to again, if you ever HAVE to, make a woman do it (they have smaller fingers), and afterwards you still wanna huddle in the corner mumbling "leave me alone". If this does not describe you afterwards, you might be gay.

Bahama Mama - it's different for women. You are allowed (if not encouraged) to experiment. I'd say you still have another couple dozen intimate same gender moments to your credit before any accusations can be made. ....And if you allow a male or a video camera to be present, then it especially doesn't count against you.

Guys....as a doc, I can honestly say this is no day at the beach for either party. Remember the old saying "this is going to hurt me more than you." ITS NOT TRUE.
But heres a tip.....with todays technology there are very reasonable alternatives. E.g., monitoring psa levels (to assess the prostate), and with no symptoms whatsoever...I think its reasonable to pass on the rectal exam, most years. Having one, one year out of 5 would be reasonable. Lastly, manual prostate palpation is far from foolproof.
But if you have symptoms....bleeding, urinary problems, etc. then its time to cowboy up.

i seem to recall when i had to research this subject 10-12 years ago, it came up on google that people that are very familiar and well-verserd with "Michelob Sampler Packs" should have this procedure done pronto.
maybe ask the doc, if he can provide research papers on this...not sure of the validity.

Part of my job, unfortunately, at times involves removing fecal impactions on patients. Talk about somebody squirming!! Usually, though, the patient is hurting so bad, they don't mind the procedure because it gives them relief.
For women, a rectal exam should go along with the yearly checkup/pap smear/pelvic exam. I know of a lady from around here who's doctor passed on this rectal portion, and she died of rectal cancer. It's a test that needs to be done.
