yes...teams do get screwed by the refs

arizona vs duke

maryland vs duke

much worse than this game........

people are complaining about what, 7 penalties, 4 of which totally were legit, 2 of which could have gone either way (jackson's push and the holding penalty on locklear) and 1 of which was a bad call, personal foul penalty by the qb AFTER an int by the qb? ...i dont understand? which call changes the game? where exaclty did seattle get royally screwed?????

There were also a few penalties that could have been called on Pitt that weren't. Roth should have been flagged on that one TD for his block, but he wasn't. There was also the Jackson catch towards the end of the half where it looked like his second foot grazed the pylon before going out. That was very close. To not even review that was a little odd.

Almost all of the penalties against Seattle were huge momentum killers. Personally, I think the Locklear hold was the biggest call of the game. They would have had first and goal at the 1 down by 4. And with all due respect to Gene Wojo, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that they would have gotten the ball in the end zone on their 4 tries. A couple of plays later came the pick and everything was downhill from there...

Leave it at this:

The worst year ever for Football Referees. Don't forget the Bowl games with the Nebraska/Michigan debacle and that Iowa-Florida game. Followed up by the bumbling stumbling NFL refs. No conspiracy, just f...cking incompetence. Except for the guy from Pitt.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that Pitt jumped offsides on the Locklear "hold." But why would a flag be thrown on Pitt???

well the pi penalty was a 4 point difference......too bad jackson had to push off the defender right in front of the ref

guess seattle got screwed by the refs on both their missed fg's too.....that's 6 points

and no, the catch by jackson at the end of the half wasnt even close and yes pitt would have eventually run that gadget play from randel el to ward on that possession where they scored....and it would have still worked from 10 yards further

my point is....from a game that was fairly boring, i didnt see the blatantly called game that the seachicken fans are screaming about and the whining is getting sickening

lmfao and the late, late flag on that touchdound with the interfe call..all becasue a pitt player cried to the ref..and then, the late flag

now to read that this ref was from pitt is now adding more to my disgust(if that is possible)

well you are one of the few, many articles written on the officiating as well as all the talk on radio/tv stations..taking alot away from all the pitt winning champs talk..i even see alot of pitt bettors stating this too..the ones who actually watched this game

Rex,

Since the game was such a fricking dog, this is the stench that comes from it. Compare this to the aftermath of the USC/Texas game. Tell me College aint better than the NFL

Are we ever gonna hear then end of this hogwash bullshit. The game is over, move on people moon1

no shit

in the pantheon of horribly officiated games where some team got totally screwed........this game wasnt even close to being that bad.

go ask the portland trail blazers vs the lakers in 01
or the king vs the lakers in 02

just seems like since the game was garbage and there was nothing memorable about the game that everybody has latched onto this story and run with it as the truth.....when in fact most of it is bs and didnt change anything.

if pit goes up 21-3 in the third instead of throwing a pick on the 4 and this game turns into a rout, is any of this even mentioned???

Considering it was one of the more controversial Super Bowls I can remember, I think people might dwell on it for awhile.

i am sure that if these same calls were against pitt..all the pitt plays/backers would be doing the same exact thing..as they did(and should have done) in the playoff game ag indy..pitt would be crying about the same thing but having a ref from pitt..well

I'm a Seahawks fan and I can even admit that it was a pretty boring game. I guess I don't understand the point of the thread though. He complains that people won't stop talking about it, but then he feeds the hype by posting over and over?

:mj07: Aaaaaallriiiight! By the way, you've done pretty well with your Pac-10 hoops picks. I don't play a lot of hoops but when I do it's Pac-10. I've made a killing going against OSU this year. They're awful.

The holding penalty cost Seattle another 7.

This is the EXACT rationale that is ass backwards.

Hasselbeck's INTERCEPTION cost Seattle 7, not the holding call. Open your eyes
