I guess he meant Library Tower.

You have more credibility if you actually know the name of the supposed target.

End of message.

It's easier to foil a terror plot on an imaginary building. I don't think you have to have a warrant to surveil those, either. But, I could be wrong on both counts.

Actually, I do feel a little better. But that is selfish and shallow, so I apologize.

You know, seriously, I was thinking last night on my drive home, that I'll bet it's about time we hear about some kind of plot that was foiled, either recently, or during the past few years. I know that is kind of conspiratorial, but I honestly had that pop into my head when I was listening to commentary on the Surveillance hearings, etc. I think I should start a blog and call it: Pre-Terra-Alert.com or something.

I have not read anything about this yet today, but I've seen the headlines.

not selfish and shallow...i understand that you guys believe what you post....and i respect that...

i`d say "adolescent"...but,you`re entitled to your opinions...

i`d think that with the patriot act under attack from the harry("we killed the patriot act!!") reid`s.....
..and the nsa hearings...with the feinberg`s of the world declaring unequivocally that the international surveillance program is illegal...

it`s about time the administration went on the offense.......

Why is he detailing this now? I read the BBC news link which didn't really reference where this detailing was going on, nor why. This was one of the supposed 10 foiled plots unveiled last October.

Busn needs to learn from Clinton how to foil an attack. Remember those missles fired at the Al-Queda compounds in Afganistan?

lol- awww, come on GW. For four years he's been supposedly reading intelligence about this, surely discussing it dozens of times with whoever. Is it too much to ask that he remembers the name of the supposed target?

Besides, although I didn't hear all of the speech, I don't think he even mentioned wiretaps. I could be wrong on that, but the thrust of it was that an unamed SE Asian country arrested the supposed mastermind and the plot unraveled.

That's precious. That label being charged from the guy who put up applauding emoticions when reporting on 500 people losing their jobs at the NEW YORK TIMES.

Willing to sacrifice more public dole money in return for seeing his arch-rival shed some employees (with many of those 500 being Republican or Independent I'm quite sure).

Bad enough to be blinded by ones' crusade, but at least keep the stones being thrown to within the property line of your strange bubble.

Bush says, 'the terrorists are weakened and fractured, but still extremely lethal.'

Nothing like keeping people scared to death while at the same time implicitly patting himself on the back for crushing the terrorists.

Gotta love that guy.

i`d be curious to hear the comments if a republican cures cancer....

By the way, not that it's important, but I would be lavishing some pretty strong praise on a Republican who cured cancer. My father died of cancer, my sister currently has it and is doing very well with her (so far) manageable type of the disease.

I know you weren't attacking me personally with this, it just hit home a little. I'd love to see some of the money flying around the world and here at home doing all kinds of things deemed "important" go towards hitting this disease right between it's cells.

I hope to God a Republican cures it. Or Allah, or whom or whatever.

WTF?

LA's mayor first heard about this plot on TV today, along with everybody else.

He says he was 'blindsided' by the news and communication with the White House has been non-existent regarding this 'plot.'

I don't know if he was the mayor in 2002, but it really doesn't matter. It seems like the sitting mayor of a city where this huge, grave plot was being planned against, just *might* be notified.

Really makes ya wonder.

Bush couldn't foil a day old slize of pizza. I do not give the administration any benefits of any doubts on this one. That idealistic once upon a time day has been trampled on too many times since March, 2003.

Why are we told now? Heats on and from his own guys. We should soon here about others as needed. And nothing said how this all was stopped. Have anyone seen Bin lately. He's that very tall guy wondering around in Afgan. The guy that had more done to America then Saddam.
