anybody think this supposed illness today that kept him home might not truly be the case and maybe he might be pulling a Quinn Snyder here very shortly after today's brutal performance....can't see him surviving this run my hoosiers are on....boo birds are out and in a must win game the hoosiers are laying an egg.....sorry to say it because I like Davis, but he is gone and deservedly so.

IU down 15 with 9 to go....do us all a favor Mike and please step aside......you said this team is 10x better than any of the previous 6 you've had at IU....and you said you'd walk away if you couldn't get it done with this group....please stick to your word and save yourself a little face.

Well if he walks away prepare to see DJ White come back down to sec country. Davis got him from his home state. I agree with you i like davis but his troops are not getting it done.

I'll agree with that......although I don't know if DJ would want to transfer given the fact that had he not gotten hurt this year he was probably heading to the NBA after the season.....I don't know if he'd want to transfer and sit out another whole year....he may just come back to IU for next year and then leave.....but I'll take the defections at this point to rebuild this program.

Agreed, I am from Alabama country and we never really recruited him which I dont understand, because someone I work with knows him well and he is not happy at what all is going on. We'll see what happens. Good luck with everything you do.

looks like it is all over.......news conference tomorrow.....supposedly this resignation has been in the works for the last week and they finally reached an agreement on the terms of Davis' buy-out. I hope the IU admin. gets it right this time.....they need to hit a home run on this next hire.

Davis had the world by the ass, but he just couldn't shake the abused, victim, disrespected mentality that so many blacks have. I don't mean this disrespectfully. I understand his problem with the alums and the like, but he needs to be above that if he wants respect and success. He had a great opportunity but just couldn't seem to make the most of his chance. Too bad.

Why is it that something uninformed, shallow or flat out stupid always seem to surface when someone starts out with: I don't mean this disrespectfully or no disrespect but ~`~`~`~`~`. I come in contact with people from all walks of life and all races and have never noticed this mentality you think so many blacks have. This mentality you describe does exists but I don't think it's exclusive to blacks, I have a guy that works for me that fits this mentality to a (T). Strange but he's not black.

You are absolutely correct. My statement was poorly written. I did not mean it as a black issue. I meant it more as a "victim mentality" thing. I have the greatest admiration for Tony Dungy, Sylvester Croom, and many black coaches. I think there should be many more than there are. My point was meant to be that Mike Davis seems to be looking for an excuse to fail, when he had success within his grasp.

I do apologize for my shortsighted statement.

Don't apologize. You're right the first time. That black victim mentality is encouraged by ESPN. Not all blacks share it, but a lot do.
