What do people recommend for Virus protection?

Should I pay for software or are there free ones out there that will do the job...

I've been with them for years. Started out on their free software and now pay for their software. Update everyday with them.

I use the same thing as mcgruder. I still use the free edition. It's great!

I've been using Norton's anti-virus for almost 2 years....About $40 for the software, then $10 or something like that to renew after a year. Very good, never had any problems

Why do you have to renew after a year? I have McAfee and now my year is up and i have to renew? I thought once you pay for it its all over with.

This virus program is intergrated into a lot of tech tool cd's

Also, FYI, microsoft is going to release 7 new patches this tuesday. Including some Microsoft Office patches. Patching is almost has important as antivirus
