9 point lead with 3:00 to play in the first half. Since they're the road team they have to give up the obligatory run to the home team before the half ends. It's now tied at half with the 10-1 run they gave up to Rutgers. Fouling like crazy, letting Rutgers stay in it with free throws, and not being able to hit the broadside of a barn in the last 3 minutes. Now I know why the line went from Marquette -1 to +2. I should have known better. Marquette will NOT win this game. That run just took the heart out of them and gave Rutgers the momentum they needed.

And to make matters worse, the 2nd half line is Rutgers -1. It seems like when a team dominates an entire half and then gives up a run at the end, they still favor the team that had the lead for most of the half. Not the case here. The initial line was fishy and the halftime line is fishy. I'm hedging and taking Rutgers -1 2nd half. Just can't see Marquette winning this one.

:mj07: They certainly need it don't they? It doesn't look like it's going to happen though. They can't make shots and they continue to foul damn near every trip down the floor. They're going to lose this game because of 3 minutes. Wow. It never ceases to amaze me how much emotion and momentum factor in to outcomes in NCAA hoops.

I really think that run at the end of the half by Rutgers sealed their fate. They were controlling the game and then they just imploded the last couple of minutes. Gave Rutgers hope and momentum.

Unbelievable. 8 point lead and Rutgers fouls two straight times down the floor. Who do they think they are... Marquette? :mj07:

I have Marquette +1.5 and Rutgers -1 in the 2h. As long as Rutgers wins by 1 I'll win one and push the other. That REALLY isn't happening.

Here's the $25,000 question... will Rutgers actually be able to make free throws down the stretch? These are college kids who can't make free throws to save their lives after all...

Rutgers up 8 with 1:15 to go and you foul Marquette giving them an and-1 opportunity. Nice. Of course he doesn't make the FT though, he is a college player after all. Then Rutgers fouls AGAIN up by 8 with :40 to go. Am I the only one who is amazed at how stupid these guys are??? They aren't as bad as UW, but they're close. I think you're average chinchilla is smarter than most college athletes.

none of them have any clue about game situations and what to do when

i saw ohio state up 12.....after giving up a 19 point lead....and a minute twenty left shoot, miss get the rebound, fire up an immediate three, get the rebound and take another shot, and miss ........hello......you're up 12......stand there and run the clock out or let illinois foul you.......why they kept firing up shots amazes me

Yeah, it really is staggering that they have no clue like that. Where are the coaches in all this? I guess I blame them as much as the players. They know that these guys, while tremendous athletes, aren't exactly Rhodes Scholars. Shouldn't they have them prepped for stuff like this. Like in a timeout say something like "Um, guess what guys, we're up double digits with 1:00 to play. DO NOT shoot the ball until the shot clock is under 5, or let them foul you." And if they don't follow your orders you bench their azzes. It's not rocket science.
