www.zillow.com

You just plug in an address and they give an estimate of homes worth with a satellite shot of home. It's free and they don't ask for any info. Just the address.

I've only done mine so far and it was in the ballpark, so I assume it's pretty accurate overall.

That's a great site. they would have my house nailed if they had the updat since we added a bedroom. Their estimate is almost exact before the addition.

"No homes were found at ***********"

I've been in my new house for 3 years, and they still have my neighbor's's house as a dirt pile it's been there for more than 24 months.

Great site, I just wish they would update.

Wish it was correct but estimates seem a little high to me, especially the way Real Estate has been the last few months.

This site just came out last week so I think they are still tweeking a few things but will be a great tool in the future.

Very cool site but not all that accurate. Comparing houses in my neighborhood off by 15% in some cases and my mother inlaws house in a differernt state where she has lived for 20yrs the value is about 20% to 30% low. But still a cool site.

Mine was maybe 5% low, but it's a good site if you wanna be nosy and get a general idea. Probably nothing to base your asking price on.

Blazer, they probably haven't gotten to Tennessee yet. :)

that site is junk...the idea is good and the navigation is solid, but the info isnt

many problems...inaccurate sq ftage, yrs built ect...

i plugged my house in and it looks like i overpaid by about 60k according to that site...but then again my whole street overpaid by about 80k-100K according to that, so i guess i'm OK :violin:

take it all with a grain of salt folks

lol- man, no site like that is going to hit it right on the head (at least as we see the head). Go to the most popular site of its kind, homevalues.com. They have LOCAL real estate agents come back with an estimate. You should see the range they give you with much more info at their disposal (you input all the particulars). It spans 20-25%.

In case anyone actually does go to homevalues.com, don't give them a real phone number because an agent will be bugging the shit of of you within 24 hrs.

Anyways, seems like it works better for some than others.

Actually, this site was very accurate to the price that my house could "appraise" for when it comes to loan value. I don't believe I could pull this amount down actually selling it unless I found the perfect buyer.

LOL! Not that good....about $800k

Of course the same house in California would be $4 million.....it is ridiculous. I dont know how people buy houses out there.

it's got our condo at $904,000 off by $325,000, but the Sq ft is off by 125 sq ft and it only has us listed as 2 bedrooms and we have 3.

Last appraisail 6 months ago at 1.2 million.

Yes sun Tzu it is crazy out here.

mine about 10-15% low. House just sold one block below - smaller, view not as good, no serious upgrades - still closed escrow 25k higher than they have mine listed. If you are looking for a ballpark figure, probably not too bad
