Thoughts on USC/UCLA game...

I've noticed that most of the handicappers on this site seem to be on USC. Hell, just out of curiosity I even checked the Services link and it looks like most of the "pros" are on SC as well. So here's my question... am I missing something? Not trying to sound like a smartass, it just seems like UCLA is head and shoulders better than this SC squad. And isn't Pruitt still out for SC? Am I missing a key injury to a UCLA player? The line at my book started at -6.5 and is down to -5.5. I honestly thought it would be up to -8 before tip so I'm thoroughly confused. Would appreciate any opinions/thoughts on the game...

Oh, and I almost forgot to add that this is an ENORMOUS game for UCLA because a win would give them sole possession of 1st after that Cal debacle last night...

I like USC as the home dog. They will keep this close...a little on the ML is worth it as well IMO.

I think some people place a lot of stock in same season revenge. I am of the opinion that SC doesn't have the horses to compete - no matter how bad they feel about being bitch slapped earlier in the season.

Looking for a similar debacle from the Bruins tonight. Seems to me that evryone is on the Bruins, not USC.....gl to you Quag

Rex,

I didn't look at percentages. You could very well be right. At first glance it looks like there are a lot more guys here that are on SC and the line has dropped a point on my book's site. I suppose that doesn't mean that the percentages necessarily favor SC though. Good point. Don't think I can back SC but may lay off all together. It's also hard for me on this one because it's not exactly a road game for UCLA. LA is LA. Good luck with your pick.

You are right, not much of a home advantage at all. The SPorts Arena is a horrible venue. Thank god they have a nice new gym to play in next year....Hopefully it is a good game and not a blowout

if there is a question of who "everyone is on"
....... then there's a pretty good chance that everyone isn't on one side or the other. should the books really give two shits who wins a usc/ucla game in mid-february when its running concurrent with the nba all star game?

I was just saying I was surprised that the line had dipped and that there seem to be more people on here on SC. I really thought this would be one of those games where the fave got hammered. I expected it to be very lopsided in favor of UCLA, but a lot of people seem to be on SC. As for the NBA All-Star Game... I think I'd rather watch SC/UCLA myself.

all you need to do is look in the nba forum on a daily basis to see the number of degenerates that cant stop bitching about the nba .... but cant get their money down fast enough to bet on it. for christsake, people are betting on the dunk and 3pt shootout. its kinda scary.

... but the original point was that people make way, way, too much of the public angle. its a concept that has great merit, but has taken on a life of its own and now gets blown well out of proportion every day here and elsewhere.

yeh the other one I hear alot is how much money is on each side.

Like anyone on earth knows how much money is being bet by all the books on any one game or another.

People who use that to bet with should just send their money to a good charity.
