I put a small bet on Pepperdine +11 before tip-off so that I could watch the game...

Man, I feel sorry for those guys that had Gonzaga... that is a certifide bad beat...

game also went over the total on that final shot as well.
its a tough beat for zags bettors and a fortuitous final minute for the waves bettors, but pepperdine did deserve to cover that game. they were within the number for 90% of the night. i wouldnt feel too bad about cashing that ticket. if gonzaga had been up 16-18 with a few mins to go, maybe. but it was right around 8-12 for most of the half

not to mention that Pepperdine got hosed on calls more than once in the 2nd half

GMan... I was speaking more specifically of the last 3-4 minutes... I gave up on Pepperdine...

It was at 12 or 13 most of that time... and then that last sequence... with Raivio hitting his free throws... and then the miracle offensive rebounds...

And then to top it off, refs dont call the foul with 2 seconds left... which would have been a real unfortunate twist for Wave bettors...

I feel confident I was on the right side... Just didnt seem like Pepperdine could get under the number in time...

Quite an ending. Worth the price of the bet regardless of win or loss...

Sounds like I am happy I crashed w/about 4 min. left in game. I had Zags. I think they were up 16 w/ball when I called it a night. I felt pretty comfortable they were going to cover- bummer.

Can you give me some details? I went to bed pretty early, but some of my 'Cuse winnings on Pepperdine. Woke up to find a nice 1-point victory. Haven't seen or heard anything about game.

TJ, just woke up...

Zags were up by as much as 16 with only a few minutes left.

Pepperdine hit most of their shots down the stretch but kept fouling. In the last few seconds of the game, they hit a shot to bring the lead down to 10. Then they fouled Raivio with only 20 seconds left or so, and I am cursing at the TV... he hits both his free throws, of course... and then Pepperdine gets it, shoots a desperation 3, gets the offensive rebound, heaves up another desperation 3, misses it, and then get another offensive rebound and hits a jump shot with two seconds left.

And then to top it off, refs dont call the foul with 2 seconds left when Zags inbound it and idiot Pepperdine players try to foul again... which would have been a real unfortunate twist for Wave bettors...

Wow. What an ending. Thanks for the write up. I wish I had stayed up now. One hell of a finish. I've been on the other side of those games too many times.
