think it was decided that this is a video of someone hunting varmits. ..not people.

somone on another message board posted it and the military professionals jumped in debunked it.

it's impressive none the less.

yep, I've seen that, and it's definitely prarie dogs getting shot by higher powered rifles. I think it's actually been on here before and several people thought it was awful.

Carlos Hathcock, during Vietnam, was probably the most renowned sniper of all time. He used a .50 cal gun at times and had several confirmed kills over 1000 yards.

The Carlos Hathcock quote is true. His longest confirmed kill was 2250 meters(1.47 miles) with a .50 caliber rifle.

Thanks for the link. His record was broken by a sniper picking off a Taliban fighter a few years ago.

Also, somebody mentioned moving targets. He could hit those too. He and his spotter once held a whole NVA platoon in check for 24 hours, and many of those were running targets. If I remember correctly, they let them get all the way out into the middle a flooded rice patty where they had little to no cover, and he started mowing them down. After dark, they called in for flares so he could still see to shoot. These shots were in the 400 yard range (could have been longer, not sure) I believe using an M14.
