getting close to that magical time of the year... march madness. as is my norm on saturday, here are my top 42 plays for the day....
georgetown (-6.5)2 units. after winning 7 straight, georgetown hit a rough stretch, losing 3 straight. they righted the ship against rutgers, getting a needed 16-point win. looks like a lot of people jumping on the orange bandwagon now, after their win over west virginia. did anyone actually see the game? 'cuse was terrible, but they just stunk a litle less than wv. sure, if gmac can shoot straight, 'cuse could win this game. but he just keeps firing up bad shot after bad shot. i think it will be georgetown, not syracuse, who continues their drive to the postseason today.
depaul (-2.5) 3 units. tough to take a team that's lost 9 of 11, but the more difficult it is to bet on a team, the better their chances of winning (usually
). seton hall has come down off of their run. did anybody else watch their game this week against st johns while eating? it was tough on the digestion, let me tell you. ugly, ugly, ugly. expect more of the same here. depaul will find a way to get the home win.
rhode island (+3) 3 units. really like this play. losing finn will hurt xavier. he was very underrated, i felt. solid ballplayer.
temple (+10.5) 2 units. sure, duke is always a threat to blow somebody out, but i think temple will keep this one close. paulus has hit a wall for duke. his minutes are starting to diminish, as he's hit 3 of his last 15 shots, and scored a total of 7 points over that 3-game stretch. now i understand duke doesn't exactly rely on paulus to score for them to win, but i think coach k knows he'll need more than reddick on the perimeter. he'* love for his point guard to be that second deep threat. especially against the temple zone today. not gonna happen.
LSU (-6) 2 units. i continue my anti-kentucky plays. this one does worry me, as uk has actually been better on the road than at home. but i think lsu will enjoy their opportunity to kick uk while they're down. they should get a solid win here.
wright st. (+4) 2 units. my horizon league play of the day.
illinois chicago has hardly been dominant at home in conference, going 3-4. the raiders will be looking to avenge their earlier home loss to the flames, as they blew a 9-point halftime lead and were outscored from the FT line by 11, losing by 5. wright st will wrap up the 3-seed in the conference tourney with a win. they have alternated wins and losses over the last 7 games. they lost their last game. man, that sounds like a
adlock: i mean, how can you go against that solid trend?
illinois (-8) 2 units. i look for illinois to take care of business here. iowa is not very good away from home.
cal northridge (+6.5) 2 units. what? didn't the matadors just lose to pacific 3 days ago by 28? didn't their starters combine to hit 6 of 24 shots for the game? :scared wow, they don't stand a chance today. then why are they only catching 6.5 points? i don't know, but i'm gonna find out.
stanford/wazzou under (115) 3 units. will the cougars break 40? stay tuned to find out.
gonzaga (-12.5) 2 units. yes, i know the zags have been terrible ATS at home. and they only beat SD by 1 earlier this season. that must be why 90% are on SD. when i see 90% on a team (especially a dog), i GOTTA go the other way. SD has only played one road game in february, losing to SF by 16. zags get the blowout win tonight.
kansas/texas under (138.5) 2 units. still not sure what to make of the game (i expected to see more people on kansas), but i like this under. both teams will ratchet up the defense.
