Tonight, i'm playing Korea -2.5 -270 (1 unit)

No i am not scare to lay such a chalk even though Korea will probably be without their best sluger (injured during China Taipei game) and their pitchers. China just lost 18-2 to Japan and Korea is suppose to be just a bit weaker than them so ... China will hang on but Korea will put them out of the race in the 6th or 7th. They are just better and they want to make sure to be up 2-0 before meeting the BIG Japan team...

I have my Taiwanese friends coming over again at 1am Pacific Time to watch Taiwan play Japan live.

I don't have the heart to root for Japan in front of them, so I will stay away from that one.

It is crazy how the lines come out so close to first pitch! They don't have the lines up for the Japan/Taiwan game that starts in 1 hour.

I ended up finding a line on 5dimes. it was somewhere around -1200 for Japan and +700 on Taiwan... but i had no money in 5dimes, and didn't want to deposit for that game.

But yeah, for some reason the other books didn't bother with it.
I might make a solid one unit bet on Taiwan in their grudge match against mainland China. I know they won't want to go 0-3.

But Japan and Korea have clinched a trip to the next round. Pool A basically went as predicted by the experts, those two teams are relatively talented, and Japan looks solid enough to move even further in the tourney in my opinion. Not too sold on Korea though.

I was hoping Taiwan would squeek through, for my friends' sake, but now I can focus on the other Pools.

Should be interesting

Lines are pretty much different and tough to guess... I see a 4-5 points win by Taipei so i am gonna take a small wager on
CHINA +4.5 +130 (1 unit) I was leaning on Taipei until i saw the lines but at +130 there is value with China and Taipei have some problem scoring... I surprise myself rooting for China but it is there that i can see the best value...

God they keep talking about Korean players getting out of required military service if they win a medal... OK we get it! find another story to talk about.

Korea isnt the only country with that type of arrangement. And most of their players have probably already done their military service. These guys aren't as young as Olympic amatuers.

It's not like Korea has had some huge war in the last 50 years. :sleep:

This ESPN coverage is lame, so far.
