the guy tries to run down students at u.n.c.....admittedly because he felt muslim rage against americans....

we don`t know for a fact whether there`s any terroist implications....

he`s from iran(from what i`ve seen on the news)....would obviously be a flight risk....

9 counts of attempted murder?....

and people are bitching that his bail is to high?......

who`s to say that if he made bail,he may not try something else....

lets get every fact triple checked before giving this guy another opportunity to maybe kill some civilians...

Although I agree we wouldn't want to send the wrong message to our Muslim friends I would like to know who is bitching that his bail is too high.

I agree that it's ridiculous. I heard about what the guy did, but hadn't heard about the bail thing. Who, exactly, is saying it's too high and are they obviously identifiable as being 'liberals?' It wouldn't shock me, but i'm just curious.

Or is it just assumed because it's the 'liberals' who are weak on terror and of course they would want someone like that loose on the streets?

actually not sure if it was cnbc/fox or cnn...one of the cable channels......i was flipping channels......

there was a debate about the guy`s bail...a lawyer was on the phone saying that the bail was excessive and that he deserved a "fair" bail.....

i agree that 5 mill is big time bail...but,for now,i think it pays to be a bit prudent....

given the potential flight risk,what the guy stated to authorities....and the fact that they might want to determine whether or not he`s competent..

By the sound of the thread title I thought there might be some groundswell 'reduce bail' movement going on with Jesse and the ACLU that I had not have heard of.

Personally, I think we should risk sending the wrong message to the Islamic world and punish this person severely followed by sending him back to his shlthole homeland without possibility of returning. ....Or better, just run him down. ......Or EVEN BETTER, lets draw a cartoon of him sucking Muhammed's dlck!

this may just be another test of the resolve of america….

if this suv gets away with it, the next thing we can expect are entire used car lots mobilizing, filling themselves with explosives, and kidnapping and forcing middle eastern men to drive them to crowded malls so they can kill the infidels wholesale.......

i have it on good authority SIB) "the suv`s" have been told that there are 72 low mileage accords waiting for them after they blow up. .....

However, you're missing the point. Nobody thinks you're overreacting. As far as I can tell nobody has disagreed. I, for one, agree.

I was just curious about the basis upon which you declare that 'liberals' are crying about the bail, when in fact it was one random lawyer, who may not even be liberal.

Kind of misleading, but indicative of a particular mindset.
