He might be talking about 3 way wagering where it settles after 60 minutes. you get better juice for a team to win, but they have to win outright and not in a shootout. This was common in the olympic hockey.

Yes 3-way wagering. If the game goes into a shoot-out it is considered a tie, and usually worth between 6 & 7:1.

I would like to know what book offers 3-way wagering as well. To have a shootout decide if your bet wins or loses is an absolute joke! Some of these NHLers look at the shootout as an opportune time to try there latest and greatest breakaway moves and could give a rats a** if the puck goes in the net or not. It blows me away how many of these shootout attempts are shot wide of the net!
