Amazing. I was just about to type the same thing. I usually don't let lines scare me but that one seemed waaaaaay off. Now it looks like it was just a bad line.

If you can believe this.....

I'm on both Pittsburgh and CFlorida. Long way to go, but looks good right now.

Wow. Nice calls. I almost played Pitt just because I thought it was a good bounceback situation for them and they're a tough team that plays with heart. Louisville... not so much.

No it wasn't a bad line IMO. It was a clever decptive task the books tried to use and make people think too much as you already said. It made the public rethink about the amounts to lay on UCF. Vegas must have known UCF had no real match with ECU tonight and knew everyone would pound them at a line of 7-8, so why not make them think a bit. I am sure some people even changed their bets to ECU which is looking more and more like a mistake. IMO Vegas doesn't have bad lines...they just set the lines to get the betting public on one side or the other. They very well meant to move the line from the high opening of 9 down to 4 and eventually 3.5/3 to make people think something must be up.

Hey anything can happen. Penn was down 16 to Princeton last night and came back to lose by 1 (were winning at one point)...it even went to OT to get decided. They were giving 6 and didn't come back, but it just almost happened last night...but that was Penn vs Princeton and this is ECU vs. UCF, quite a difference.

I don't disagree that Vegas wanted to make people think something was up, but I highly doubt the general public would read into it that much. The general public sees a line like that with a MUCH better team who is laying just a few points and they jump all over it. After all, they LOVE playing faves anyway. I think it's the people who know a little something about betting that are scared off by the line. But like you said, either way they probably achieved their desired effect.

Absolutely dead on...squares salivated when the line dropped to 3.5...

why in the world would a sub.-500 team be any more than a 4 or 5 point favorite on a neutral court? obviously ucf is pounding them right now but central florida is not a good basketball team. you guys are giving them way too much credit saying they should be an 8 or 9 point favorite. they could win by 30 and the line ended up about where it should have been.

I obviously can't speak for anyone else, but my thinking wasn't so much based on UCF's talent but on how unbelievably bad ECU is. You're right, UCF is nothing to write home about. But when you have ECU catching less than 4 points to just about anyone it seems a bit low. I'm not saying it should have been as high as 9, but -3.5 seemed really low.

I liked Pitt, but wasn't going to play the CFLA game at all. Didn't even look at it, but it got so much talk here, and everyone said how bad ECU sucked and how they were in disarray.
I parlayed Rutgers with Central Fla. Nice payout coming on that one. And played Pitt regular.
Should be a nice night. Might finish up with Wash St. and CS-Northridge.

Good job. There are some very good cappers on Wazzu tonight but I just don't think I can bring myself to play them. Having said that, Oregon isn't very good either and WSU games are so low-scoring that +3 is probably the equivalent of +6 or +7 with other teams. Good luck if you play it...

It's down to 15 now with a little over 5 to play. No need to hit the panic button yet, of course.
