The defending champion San Antonio Spurs head to the Arizona Desert on Thursday to take on the Pacific Division-leading Phoenix Suns in a clash of two of the NBA's elite Western Conference teams.

The Spurs split their first two meetings with Phoenix while shooting a combined 41 percent. The Spurs have also won 10 of their past 15 regular-season games against the Suns.

Argentine Manu Ginobili has been the star for the Spurs over the last two meetings against the Suns. The Spurs guard has made 13 of 19 shots, including 6 of 9 3-pointers, in the past two games.

Almost everybody is anticipating the matchup between Tim Duncan vs. Boris Diaw. At 6-foot-8, 215 pounds, Diaw hardly looks like at a center. But after two forgotten seasons in Atlanta, he's one of the NBA's most versatile players. Diaw had 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in Sunday's victory over Dallas while playing good defense on Dirk Nowitzki.

He's guarded Duncan for stretches in both of the teams' previous meetings, sometimes using his athleticism to front him. Duncan averaged 21.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in the two games.

Oh, we're at the other side of the world. Today's Friday here my man...

By the way, who are you rooting for today's game?

Ouch! The Suns were manhandled by the Spurs, 117-93. Phoenix though played without Steve Nash, Leandro Barbosa and Kurt Thomas.

Where Nash goes, the Suns follow. No Nash means no title ambitions for Phoenix. Hey, what the hell has happened to Amare?
