ucla is on fire......will be a solid team the next few weeks and wouldnt be shocked to see them in indy......strong on defense, have a pg that controls the offense and a scorer in afflalo to go along with two quick rebounders in hollins and the prince.....throw in a good coach in howland and this team is flying under the radar.....throw in 2 games in san diego followed by 2 games in oakland (likely)

did i mention they have covered about 9 of 10 and that they absolutely shut people down in the 2nd half?????

strong team......wish i had some coin on them on a future ticket over the past month or so at high dd odds

They also dealt with injuries throughout the season. This UCLA team is better than their record indicates.

they are and i cant stand them......from mid jan to now they have improved significantly

about a month ago i had them pegged as a round 2 loser.....now i'd be shocked if the didnt win at least 2 games.....after than anything is possible but i think they win at least 3 games

Has nothing to do with what conference they are in, but that seems to be the only song you know...

hey gjn, do you agree with the ESPN announcers saying that faramer and affalo are the best backcourt in the nation?

I find that statement to be ridiculous myself,

I agree about UCLA that they have flown under the radar all season and are a good team. But it wouldnt surprise me if they play a 13 or 14 that has alot of experience and get knocked off either.

they're not losing in round one in san diego

ucla fans in general are weak and dont show up (their pathetic showing at staples was sickening, not sure who's worse them or sc football fans) but i think they make it to week 2 rather easily (of course i want to see the draw first)

as for farmar and afflalo......they are very very good and may well be the best offensive and defensive back court combo in ncaa basketball......farmar runs the team perfectly although his shot is average and afflalo is a beast and can do it all.

not sure what backcourt is the best but ucla's is right up there.

speaking of the same song......never seen you ever say anything positive about any pac-10 team.....you probably thought wooden and ucla in the 60's were over-rated and not really that good

Unlike you i dont have some conference fascination/penis envy problem. I dont care about conferences and think such arguments are ridiculous. I bet the Big 12 because I know it. I dont post that it's great, your apparent never-ending confusion of fact notwithstanding.

I do recall about 4 things I have ever really discussed about pac 10 teams:

1. Cal was overrated in 2004 and would get drilled by Texas Tech. Check.

2. USC was overrated in 2005. Check.

3. The Pac 10 was not solid in hoops 2005 and that Washington was overseeded as a 1 and would go down early. Check.

4. Arizona was solid and would beat Illinois. Wrong - nice choke job.

From what I have seen of Pac 10 hoops this year they arent very good again. I must jinx Arizona because every time I watch them they look like one of the worst team's around. UCLA beat a mid-tier Nevada team and other than that it's conference wins. I just cant make much of what they have done this year.

As for Wooden, he was great of course, maybe the best ever although I am partial to knight, despite the fact he cheated and bought and paid for his teams. He has scoreboard, but it was a different tournament then. The "West" really meant "west" and thus he walked into the Final Four each year, but he got it done. However the loss in 1974 to NCState with no 3 point shot, no shot clock, up 8 with under aminute to go still ranks up there with the poorest jobs ever.

which is it? the pac-10 was not solid in 2005 or arizona was solid in 2005?

cal wasn't over-rated in 2004....their bowl team wasnt the same team as their regular season team...guess if you lose your bowl game you're over-rated?

you're circular arguments are worthless

and sc being over-rated in 2005 is also a joke.....clearly one of the 2 best teams and if they gain 2 yards or stop a 4th down they are the national champs.......but you're right because you said so.

Dude - do you ever have anything positive to say? I would take the strongest 5 PAC 10 teams over the Suck 12 any day of the week.

You continue to go in other peoples threads and start crap... Just keep posting your Baylor losers and go away.

Baylor losers? I was actually well ahead on those wasnt I, but let's not let facts get in your way.

And let me know if you find a post where I said the Big 12 was good, or better than any other conference.

USC was "overrated" in 2005?

:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

They lost the national championship after having a 2 score lead with 5 minutes left to go because of one of the single greatest performances of any individual in recent history. That = overrated?

COMPLETELY out of reality? Check!
