This was my biggest gripe about BC in yesterday's game against NC. They just don't play any defense. If they could actually put together a game where they went out and played for 40 minutes they could be deadly. I just don't see them going very far in the tourney though considering they simply try to outscore everybody.

A bit inconsistent to shit on them for two days but to have bet on them dont ya think? If you really believe the gripes, you shouldnt bet them.

My bet was based as much on Duke not being able to get it done and their poor play of late as it was an endorsement of BC.

And maybe saying they are heartless was a bit much, but there is in no way in hell you can tell me that they are mentally tough or that they keep their heads in the game for 40 minutes. No way. They are way too hot and cold for me. One second they play with the intensity of a champion, the next second they are letting the other team rip off 3 or 4 straight wide open threes on them or getting killed on the offensive glass. They seem to have the philosophy of "a three pointer isn't a high percentage shot so just let them shoot it." I think that's crap. Heart to me is about intensity and mental toughness. So far they've been able to get away with having that in spurts, but I don't think that's going to last forever.

You mean to tell me you've never placed bets where part of your reasoning was that the team you were going against was giving too many points? My gripe with BC has always been their defense. I'm not impressed. They take MANY plays off. Offensively though they can be very good. I assumed Duke would score a lot of points but I also assumed BC would as well. I liked the line and that's why I took BC.

also keep in mind they played two of the better offenses in all of college ball last two days...
they wont be seing that early on ..most likely in NCAA tourney...

Thanks cooz. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they're going to get bounced in the first game or anything. The thing that bothers me about them is that, when they want to, they can look like one of the best teams in the nation. They just don't seem to have their heads in the game for all 40 minutes though and seem to have a lot of lapses. I'm by no means a BC expert, but that's one thing I've noticed when I've watched them this year. Good luck to you as well...
Glenn is right.........for fielding such a tough physical team they are soft on the defensive end.........

and the reason I bet on them is I think that UNC ,Duke and the ACC is overrated........BC + points vs anyone in this conference is a take for me.......
