The United States should listen to the 97% of the countries represented at the United Nations who feel that we should end our economic blockade of Cuba.

I don't know about the economic ramifications or anything. I just want Pedro Lazo to be the Brewers' closer after watching him snuff Venezuela with the bases loaded and nobody out. :D

Nice thread, Nick! The perfect mix of politics in a sports related website. And I agree with Penguinfan, the embargo oughta go.

I hear that Cuba has one of the best healthcare systems in the world. I think if Bush's big business friends wanted to end the enbargo he would do it, Bush is not too smart. When Cuba does open up and it will, they will make alot of money from tourists. From what i have seen Cuba is a very beauiful place.

Cuba is already open to tourists. You should also ask SixFive about Cuban health care. I think he has worked with Cuban doctors before.

The biggest obstacle in ending the blockade is rich Cubans who exiled to the U.S. when Castro took over. Don't f*ck with rich people's land, money, gambling, hookers and subjugation of the working man.

Cuba's healthcare is possible one of the worse in Latin America. Albeit, they do have some high end technology used for tourists and high level party people only. At least that is the common conception in latin America.

Their doctors are extremely lacking in knowledge and ability. I have seen and heard of cuban doctors during my business travels to Venezuela where Chavez gives Cuba oil in exchange for ... doctors and sports trainers for the country. :mj07:
This apparently is against the wishes of the local medical community, which is somewhat more advanced in general terms.

As for the embargo, get ird of it. BUT as long as you take away the cubans special treatment in the US where they automatically have residency status. Or the "Wet Foot - Dry foot" policy.

But I know Nick and Spy would love Havana. Dirt cheap underage whores and duty free booze for tourists only.
