I may be proven wrong but I just am not sold on UCLA. They got a nice draw and ridiculously favorable seeding and geography though. I have a sneaking suspicion they are gonna play Pitt which would be a fun matchup, or Kansas - and in trouble either way.

I think LSU takes Duke - I just wonder how they do against Texas - if they actually show up - 40 hours later.

bradley is going to fly under the radar after their dog shit performance in the mvc title game. but they could give kansas major problems. agree on lsu as well. it goes without saying that thomas' health is key though

personally i think tenn at #2 is over-seeded with the way they finished but not sure who else was worthy of a 2 seed (maybe unc had the beat bc)
Tn probably should be a 3/4 seed but they remembered when TN was not just on cruise control. They are a good team that can make some noise.. I have them out in the sweet 16 to MSU.
still havent finalized my bracket yet but my inital thoughts are:

mem, ucla, kan, pitt all have legit shots
ark, ind, marq/bama all are legit sleepers
probably gonna stick with ucla

uconn got the paved road, biggest challengers all look to be at bottom of bracket (tenn, unc, msu) and none are anywhere near uconn although uab could present full court pressure probs for uconn in round 2 as that is their weakness.

nova or bc look strong and would be a great matchup.....too bad it would be in sweet 16 (might lean to bc there as metrodome might present probs for nova's threes, where as bc's inside game tranlslates in any arena.....problem is whole world is on these two out of this conf.....bottom half of bracket looks weak...fla stinks in the tourney and not sold on ohio state...dont even see any sleepers to win 4 games, maybe gtown or ARIZONA

UNC should be ahead of UCLA. My bigger problem is not only do they get a 2, but the highest 2 seed and get to play all their games close to home. That certainly isnt fair to the 1 seed.
Candidly I think no team should be close to home. Nova in Philly - that is ridiculous. Texas and Arky in Dallas, UCLA in San Diego, Florida in Jacskonville, Puke in greensboro, etc.....teams shouldnt be getting extra help in winning a title - the season gets you a favorable seeding which should be enough...

Vol Fan Great pick on LSU advancing. There is some money to be made on LSU in this tournament. They are -6 in the first round against Iona? Tyrus Thomas will be playing and the 1&2 punch of Thomas and Davis will give Duke problems. If LSU can find a way to slow reddick, they should be able to advance. Its not so much what you have done in the past, but how do you match up vs, teams. Remember LSU played Uconn to 1 point at Uconn earlier in the season and this LSU team has gotten much better. Vol Fan you are the man, Get ready for the tigers football team this fall its going to be payback time, we have our calendars circled.
think this pod system really has screwed things up and I know that the committee moves teams up or down a seed to accomidate playing venues. but, under the old system ucla would be a #2 or #3 seed playing in sd/oak anyway.
as for duke/nova......i dont think it's ever gonna change, but i do think that they should modify the "home court rule" and make it a distance rule for rounds 1-2 as opposed to a number of times played in that building...if the site is within 60 miles you cant play there in rounds 1-2 (sorry nova or sorry ucla if there are games at the pond or staples, etc.....).........try being out in the west where your "home court" pod is salt lake city a mere 2.5 hour flight and then your regional final could be in seattle....a mere 3.5 hour flight......vs the east coast teams that drive 1 hour for round one and 2-3 hours for the regionals.

BC IS NOT GETTING TO MINNY. just because you beat nc and give overrated puke a tough game? if thet dont play on sunday in acc final with EVERYONE watching, everyone would not be on their ****. acc was down this year. dont think bc's guards are all that. hinnant played over his head. if they are fortunate enough to get to minny, nova takes them out.

these teams are all similar to bc....except that they arent as good, arent as big and dont execute nearly as well (and pacific and nevada execute fairly well)
gjn, bc is better than both of them.however, travelling across country to play early am game is not a good thing. bc is way overhyped right now. think pac. or nev. will beat them. just a feeling.

Couldn't agree more. Considering that BC plays no perimeter defense whatsoever and 'Nova is a guard-oriented team with some great shooters I can't see BC beating them. I've been wrong before though. One thing I know... it would be a high scoring game.
