i haven't posted any plays in over a week. as i stated in another thread, every year i shit the bed during the conference tourneys, then rebound and do very well the first weekend of the ncaa tourney. the first part of that held true again this year. i should have posted, just so you guys would have had some nice fades. anyways... hopefully the second part will continue to hold true this year as well.
wichita state (-3) 3 units. seton hall, after a great stretch in the middle of the season, was extremely unimpressive to finish the year. the first big east team bites the dust.
winthrop (+7) 3 units. did you see the reaction from bruce pearl when the seedings were announced? even he was shocked they got a #2. don't get me wrong. he's a great coach and they had a very good year. but they really struggled to close out the season. i don't see them getting too fired up to play the eagles. this wintrop team is no joke though. they won at marquette, and lost at alabama by 3 and at memphis by 10. and their attitude was not "we were just happy to keep it close." it was "we wanna see these guys on a nuetral court." tomorrow, they get their chance.
nc wilmington (+2.5) 2 units. gw probably got screwed with an 8 seed. but if they don't forget about that and focus on playing some ball, they're gonna be out of the tourney before they know it. the seahawks are solid.
uw-milw (+2.5) 2 units. i loved the panthers in the tourney last year. in fact, some of the largest wagers i've ever made on basketball games were on them during their run. i was going nuts during the bc game. man, i remember it like it was yesterday. anyways... this team is very similar to last year's team. and they're completely different. gone is bruce pearl. they're playing a different style. but i still think they have enough to get past oklahoma.
texas a&m (+1) 2 units. i felt all last week that syracuse's run was going to end. i really can't figure out how they won ANY of those games, much less all 4. for the most part, they really did not play well. their big guys are finally becoming more active though. but i am incredibly stubborn... i will take the aggies to finally stick the fork in gmac's college career.
utah st (+6) 2 units. this is really an anti-washington play. i don't see any reason why the aggies can't hang with them and keep this very close, if not actually win the game.
