Can anyone recall a game with a 1 seed v 16 with a shorter line than this? I dont think there has been one.

First NCAA bet I made was in 1980........Louisville vs Ucla.........been following tourney ever since and betting.........
I would be pressed to even ever recall a spread of lower than 16 points in a #1 vs #16........
When it got down to 12 I was thinking a point lowers and a point buy and I could bet a #1 vs #16 and lay under double digits........Unreal

Looking at their schedule............I still se a lot of lesser quality teams.......
But coming from a guy who had a future on Iowa State when they lost to Hampton a few years back........in todays college hoops you better take every opponent seriously no matter what because these teams can play......
I think it helps Memphis that ORU seems to like a faster pace.......this plays into the tigers hands as they will be more than happy to run and press all day.........
Would be a fun game to watch if CBS wouldnt keep showing the games I dont want to see in my area.......

ignore the mcc schedule that oru played. they are legit. still trying to figure out how theyre a 16 instead of a 13 or 14 seed
I watched them play USC early in the year and was impressed........they definitely should have been seeded higher.........

mav,i dont think its that these mid major teams are that good ,its that these major confrenece team arent that good.they dont have big time players anymore,their all in the nba.this uconn and duke teams are the faves to win it this year,compared to recent past uconn ,duke and nat champ teams they should and probably would be 10 -15 pt dogs..with the new age limit in the nba i think you will start to see the college game [major confrence teams]get back to a higher level,but never like it was years ago.
By my quick checking I believe 1997 was the last time a 1 beat a 16 by less than the line in this game......
