The things he says are usually VERY smart...

But his voice, tempo and the way he presents himself makes me think he is a tool.

This is the Jim Rome show..
Caller telling Jim how great and funny he is
Caller 2 telling Jim he cried during an epic intervitew
Interview with a 2nd rate star...Jim with all those hard hitting questions ( more soft balls than a girls hitting practice)
Jim saying how epic the interview was
3 straight callers telling Jim, in order, they never call in but had to cause that interview moved them
`3 callers saying how epic Jim is as an interviewer and that story/interview/take moved them to tears
1 caller saying was so funny on that take he spit coffee on something
15 minutes of Jim saying how great he was
10 minutes of Jim pimping his next epic interview
5 minute boring non insightful interview (Rex`Budler lets say "Rex tell us about the son with UPS syndrome ... but no question like Rex why the weed in the car???)
3 calls on how moved the epic interview was and own personal Oprah moment about Ups syndrome)
Jim bestows best interview ever.. or at least until the next interview

Shameless self promoter lots of fluff little stuff
TV show or Rome lite is 3 notches above Steven Aholes show
Me playing with my crank lefty is more exiting

Couldn't agree more Hokie. Can't stand this a-hole. repeats the same thing over and over. Got an XM radio for Christmas and haven't listened since. Love the XM's Home plate channel.

I hate that jerkoff... So much dead air and all of those stupid clones calling in making absolutely no sense.

Remember when Jim Everett slammed his little ass on the table. Priceless!

He is definitely full of himself. Bad case of little-man syndrome.

I wish they would have taped the entire beat down Jim Everette gave him. That would have been great.

But, even after something like that the guy still doesn't lose any of his pompousness. I guess Everette didn't do a good enough job.

i like him. he cracks me up. constantly dissing stupid athletes that get dui's, abuse their spouses, etc. his wit is clever at times. agreed, he has a big ego - every radio guy that carries a show everyday has a set gig. his gig happens to include constantly reminding his following of his greatness

i used to listen to jim every day on my lunch break at noon. i usually listed to his first segment and then if his topic was good i would listen to his second segment. thats about all of jim i could take, unless he had a guest on that i wanted to hear. the reason i think most people like or dislike him, is due to the fact that he makes his opinions known. he is kinda like howard stern in a way. you like him or you don't, and in either way, you still want to listen to him because of that fact. personally i don't like the guy, i think he is wayyyy to hung up on himself and i hate people like that. but in anycase, he gets people to listen to his show, and that is why he is on the air.

I guess me and Penguinfan are the only 2 posters that like Romie.

At first i didnt like him but the more i listened the more i liked him. He has great interviews meaning he interviews athletes from all the major sports. And he know sports inside and out. He knows every league and is very knowledgeable. Sure there are some clone callers that i can do without but i will take him over Dan patrick every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I like him

pretty much divided among the east/west of the country

us on the left coast tend to like him, where those on the east and middle tend to hate him

i do dislike the clone callers though

I don't like him, but your point is what makes the show totally unlistenable/unviewable. It's like the callers are reading from a script that they have practiced for hours before calling in. Terrible.

I always laugh my ass off when I listen to Rome  Yes some callers go way overboard and he repeats himself a lot but I like the show.

I guess you guys just never figured out it was a publicity stunt.

Are you saying that the Everette incident was staged?

Got to admit I like listening to the show. Still think Rome is a little puss though.
