Indiana/Memphis Under 179.5

Loving the under tonight. Last time these two teams met Pacers came away with an 80-66 home victory back in December. Memphis shot just 34% in that game and failed to score over 20 points in any quarter, including just nine points in the first.

In 16 games against the NBA's Southwest division this season, Indiana has played under the total in 12 of them. Indiana has scored over 100 points just twice in their last 17 games and not once in the last 11. Both teams are currently in line for the sixth seed in their respective conferences so I look for each team to come out looking for the win and points should be at a premium.

**Indy is 13-14 o/u playing away from home.

**Memphis is 10-22 o/u at home. Who knew?

**Total is set at 175-179.5, Indiana plays 2-7 o/u.

Memphis -5

Memphis has been playing well as of late, winning their last three games and five of their last six @ home. In their last five games as a favorite of 5-5.5 points, Memphis is a perfect 5-0 ATS, with an average margin of victory of 14.6 points in those games. They are 7-4 ATS this season when playing @ home against teams .500 or better. Also they are 21-13-2 ATS this season coming off a win.

Prediction: Memphis 90 Indiana 81

all right WW - love this under too - good to see you back

a little scared about memphis... I think the Pacers have been playing below their abilities and could bust out any day... the Pacers are 5-1 SU vs the Grizz in their last 6 played and the Pacers have won 4 out of 5 of the last 5 meetings in Memphis...

however, last time they played the Grizz only shot 33% from the field and they didn't have Bobby Jackson, so that should help their offense, but Battier is questionable, too...

i'm not bashing your play - I think the Grizz could easily cover this spread, but just wanted to let you know...

Adding...Washington -4

Washington has been lights out lately, winning four of five and averaging 108.6 pp/g per contest. They have shot 49% over that same stretch.

New Jersey is coming off a great five game stretch against Western Conf. teams which saw them go 5-0 SU, including 4-0-1 ATS. I don't put much faith in that as they beat up on a Portland team that has lost 9 of 10, New Orleans who is in the midst of an 8-game losing streak and Houston who can't beat anybody without McGrady and has lost 5 straight themselves. They beat Dallas and Lakers, true, but both games were @ home and they needed a last second miss by Kobe to hang on against LAL.

The Nets have the East's third seed all but locked up with a 6.5 game lead over struggling Philadelphia. The Wizards meanwhile are only three games back of an inconsistent Cavs team for the fourth seed and a home playoff series in the first round. The Wizards know the importance of that as they are just 10-19 away from home this season. Following this contest, the Wizards begin a season-high six-game road trip against Western Conference opponents with a matchup against Utah on Thursday, making this a "must-win" home game.

Washington is 3-0 SU/ATS in their L3 @ home vs. NJ, including a 20-point beating back in December. The Wiz love their home court as much as any team in the league, averaging 103.8 pp/g @ the Verizon Center, 3rd best in the NBA behind Phoenix and Seattle. They are 24-10 SU as a fave this season as well.

**New Jersey is 0-3 ATS as a dog of 4 points this season.

**I may even double up on this play after re-reading my write-up, I love it even more.** :bigun:

Hippo...thanks for the input, always appreciated.
My play on Memphis is based more on their defense that anything else. They shot just 39% against Utah on Sunday but were still able to score 90 points and come away with a W. Their 85.8 pp/g allowed @ home is tops in the NBA. In reference to Battier, I double checked his status and he is probable for tonight. The game recap said he was able to come back into the game late for Memphis. Apparently this is the third time this season Battier has required stitches, so he should be used to it by now, right?

Glad to see we are on the same side on both of the other plays tonight. Hope to cash in. BTW, one reason I have not posted in the past few days has been due to my attention being focused on NCAA tourneys, both mens and womens. Womens top seed these first two rounds have been very kind and helped to build my bankroll up to a more acceptable level. Overall I took in close to $600 on womens NCAA alone these past few nights.

That fourth quarter was such a tease! But that type of rollercoaster ride is what drew me to gambling in the first place. Memphis winning big was nice, but overall a bad night as my double play on the Wiz also failed to come through.

On a more positive night it looks as though you were able to get back on track with a pretty good night so far. Hope your late plays come in for ya!
