Total: 43-24-2 (+$1,855)
Updated Postseason record:
18-14-1 (+$734)
---------------------------------------------------
UCLA -4 (Gonz.), +106, 100/106
--- I still hold steadfast in my opinion that Gonzaga is a serious pretender.
Ben Howland is one hell of a coach, and he is going to find a way to harass Morrison without letting Gonzaga's mediocre roll players like Mellan turn into All-Americans (Mike Davis, take note!).
I find it interesting that Indiana played an absolutely putrid game, both in execution strategy, and still stayed with the Zags for the entire game. And I don't want to hear it was because Morrison played bad. Mellan played the best game of his life and everyone on that team was allowed open look after open look because Indiana didn't realize Gonzaga was allowed five players on the floor at all times.
UCLA will get after it and get Morrison off of my gosh damned TV. He is starting to annoy the hell out of me.
Bradley +6 (Mem.), -101, 101/100
--- This Bradley team can flat out play.
If I hadn't watched both games they had played so far in their entirety and saw this line come out, I would probably have layed it on the Tigers.
Sommerville is a legit NBA prospect, and O'Bryant is like a poor mans Marcus Camby. The guy is tall, and can run, score, and defend. They are also very well coached.
If Memphis takes this team lightly at all, their season will be over. It is as simple as that. Both KU and Pitt didn't realize the trap they had fallen into before it was too late.
George Mason -3 (WSU), +109, 100/109
---- I love the fact that one of these teams will be in the Elite 8. Crazy.
I'm going with GM. Both of these teams are very well coached, but GM seems to have that inate ability to bring out the worst in their opponents. I don't know if it is coaching, experiance, or what.
Wichita St., for all of the Cinderella talk, has had an INCREDIBLY EASY jaunt into the sweet 16. You don't hear anyone talk about this, but they played a sputtering Seton Hall team in the first round that didn't deserve to make the field, and then beat the second most overrated team in the field (thanks Ohio St.!), also sputtering.
Now they have to face a team that is playing its best basketball of the season and who knows that if it wins one more game, it will go down as one of the all-time Cinderella teams in NCAA history.
I also liked how the opening line had GM favored. I dont have a stat here, but when lower seeds open (or close for that matter) as favorites, their ATS number has to be very, very good (this is off memory... dont quote me... does anyone have these numbers?).
Georgetown +3 (Fla.), -105, 105/100
--- Why?
Just a feeling in this one. I think the media is jumping all over Florida, saying they are going to make the Final 4, slobbing Noah's knob, etc., and no one is paying attention to the Hoyas.
This is a team that plays the game right and forces their opponents to play against their strengths. They completely took OSU out of their game, and essentially dismantled them piece-by-piece. The frustration was evident.
This Florida team is very inexperianced, and I don't think they will take it well if things start to go poorly. I don't expect them to implode like OSU, but I expect a close game here. I had the Hoyas in the Elite 8 in my bracket, and I see no reason to change my opinion now.
------------
I have one very strong lean for an early game on Friday, but I am going to hold off for right now to see what happens to the line.
Also, still going over the WV/Tex game. Would like to make a play on this game, as I know Texas better than any other team currently still left. I just cant pull the trigger yet though. Might have an action play up tomorrow.
GL guys!
