Regional Semifinals -Thursday plays

Having a decent month of March. Hope to keep it going with a few plays today......

West Virginia +5

In one word, Leadership. These five upperclassmen want to go out in style. Very few teams, if any can boast 4 Seniors starters who average 37% from beyond the arc. The Mountaineers lost by just a single point to Texas back in November. The only thing that changed since then is that this team has gotten better. Victories over Villanova,Ucla, and Georgetown on the road speaks volumes on the character of this squad. Pittsnogle and co. made it to the Elite 8 last year, no reason they can't make it two in a row. This line opened at 3.5 and has gone up to 5 even with close to 70% on W.V. I'll take the better team and the points.

LSU +6

I see many madjackers on this side as well. I'm a bit surprised to see the amount of support for the Tigers. I do , however think it's justified. This team has 8 losses this year with ONLY TWO of those by more than 5 points. Florida seemed to have their number this year, but the last time I checked, they are playing Duke today. The Blue Devils have had some problems with bigger teams (G-town, Memphis, Florida St). Duke has lost in the regional semis 3 of the past 4 years.

Gonzaga +3.5

The Zags have just 3 losses this year,(vs Uconn, at Memphis and at Wash). It's Hard to bet against a team getting points that has won 21 straight games. Even though Gonzaga is a 3 seed this year, I don't think they're getting the respect they deserve. That's when they play their best. I feel you can take the home-court advantage away from the Bruins, as their should be plenty of Zag support at the Arena. UCLA has the definite defensive edge in this match-up, but I'll take the will of Morrison/Batista and co. along with the points.

Bradley/Memphis Under 143

I think the odds-makers set this total just a bit high. Memphis as allowed 67 points or less 11 of their last 15 games, while the Braves have given up 66 points or less in 9 of their last 10 contests. I'm going to stay away from the side. Memphis would be the logical choice. The only way I see this total being in jeopardy, is if the Tigers put it over the total by themselves with a blowout.
