i was surfing around the net this morning and i am reading that point guard marcus williams of uconn was seen on crutches as the team entered the MCI CENTRE. also hearing that crowd is very much one-sided for george mason... f.w.i.w.

i cannot validate, just read a blurb at another site... but i just read it again somewhere else, also their center might sit out game... copied and pasted!
Word out of Washington is he came to the arena on crutches. The sprain appears to be pretty bad and word is he would not be playing if it was a regular season game. Armstrong also has a bad ankle, UCONN bettors beware. My money is on MASON

I have no doubt it will be a GM crowd...but the arena doors are only opening in the last 10 minutes so how would anyone know for sure

here is original info:

just talked with a friend of mine who works at the MCI Center. He told me that Marcus Williams was in fact on crutches and couldn't see how he could be much of an effect in the game today. He said the crowd at the game today would be a pro George Mason crowd and that tickets from the DC area were going good for GM. It may be a play on GM

Thanks for the info .........I think the tickets were sold out before Thursday and in any event all sales for today would obviously be to people in the DC area.....so that seems odd.....

Oakland was sold out before the pairings were even announced but obviously became pro-UCLA.....maybe they are referring to scalpers...

Or possibly talking about the Wichita St. and UWash people that wanted to get rid of theirs? Not sure if the tix are usually sold for both sessions, like they are in the early rounds.

tix come together...but you can dump your finals tickets....it is a key practice at final four...shitty seats for saturday and great seats for cheap on monday as the losers exit

been to these things a million times:

tix are divided up evenly for all 4 teams (2000 or so depending on the venue).....rest are avail for general public sale, early in the year...mostly bought by local community

if original allotment isnt sold by a school, they can sell to other schools ad dept who will buy them and sell them to their fans.....same thing applies when teams lose (in this case uw and wsu)

thus the likelyhood is that there will be approx 75% of the crowd from gm or from the dc area (likely gm fans) with tix.....15% of the crowd uconn tix and the other 10% or so, neutral who will eventually cheer for gm

wil it matter?

well, i was in chicago last year for the illinois-arizona game......and it was a home game.....you know how the calls go for home teams!

but

the talent level in this one is drastic, gm is gonna need another sleepwalk performance from uconn (likely) and a great performance from themselves (probable)

reported as just very mild sprain. Did not practice yesterday for precaution but was walking fine. Received treatment and is expected 100% today.
