I'm in a NCAA tourney pool, and like everyone else's the brackets are screwed by all the upsets.
I am the leader by default and I'm wondering if I should consider hedging.

The way it stands is if UCLA loses to LSU I will win $1600.

If UCLA beats LSU and loses in championship game I will win $500.

If UCLA is national champion I win $250.

Would you let it ride or hedge by betting UCLA money line?

If it were me, I think I would lay down about $600 on UCLA money line. If they win, you collect your $600, plus a minimum of $250 if they win the whole banana. That's a +$850...and a potential +1100.

If they lose, you are guranteed 1600....less the original money line bet of 600. +1000 there...

This way, you have a shot at +1100...with a worst case scenario of +850. If it were me, I would take the "sure thing" and collect.

Then again, I guess it depends how aggressive you are, and how confident you are in LSU..

Just my two cents...

I was thinking along the same lines. Plus, if the line stay the same I might get a +120 on UCLA. Or I could bet them +2 and hope for a one point LSU victory.

I tend to like to hedge bets and take guaranteed money when I have the chance....which is why I love halftime lines.

I like LSU in the game, but who can be confident of anything in this tournament. I may watch the first half to get a feel and make a call off at halftime if necessary. Of course, if UCLA jumps out to a big lead that strategy won't work.
