I would think the B-12 would be happy to see him go. Kelvin has won more games than any coach in B-12 conference history, 2 times the National coach of the yr. Great Bio !!! Wins games !! Highly thought of by his peers !! If Davis had a Little support and good old Bob didn't try to sabotage him at every step of the way, they could have gone far with him.

Cant believe the Hoosiers are this dumb....

Huh?!

You bitch about Rick Barnes, and then you say Indiana is dumb for hiring the best coach in the Big 12? I don't get it.

I absolutely hate watching this guys teams play, but he can coach. He will bring Indiana a consistant winner... and will get the Hoosiers to buy into playing hard nosed defense, which is Mike Davis never really suceeded at.

As a Jayhawk fan, this is a great day. Hopefully OU will botch it's coaching hire... Indiana certainly did not.

554 violations is misleading. What were they? I think they did upgrade from Knights last 5 years their last two coaching moves. Ok put a dent in his pay for 2 years, he did nothing but put them on the map. He owes them nothing, they should thank him forever for what he did there.

It is Christmas in Oklahoma today! It was time for Kelvin to move on. he did a good job here, but his tourney record was poor and his style of basketball difficult to watch.

Kelvin's welcome was worn out

a dismal job with this year's team and running off your point guard doesn't help either

tired of watching those guards run all over the perimeter like chickens

have fun IU

shouldda taken Alford

now who goes to OU?

I am hoping Mike Montgomery, but I am sure they will start with Calipari and maybe Turgeon from Wichita St.

I do know that Castiglione is the best in the business and he will make a great hire.

As a Sooner Alum, let me say that I am very excited about your hire. Good Luck. He has a very high opinion of himself and thinks a lot of the rules don't apply to him.

that is what is very scary about him.....he has been in trouble before....hope he doesn't come in here trying to cut corners!! Another thing, he did a lot of juco stuff at Oklahoma......IU has rarely if ever gone that route, I hope he can recruit high school players....especially this state, because not keeping the load of in-state talent here is one of the the things that killed davis and the IU faithful are a little rambunctious as it is right now, if he comes in here and starts doing things that aren't in line with what the fan base believes is Indiana basketball, he'll be wishing he'd of stayed in Oklahoma real quick.....I'm willing to support him and see what he can do even though like I said, I'm not overly enthused with this hire.

He has done a decent job of recruiting High School talent, but a good portion of them transferred out which has required us to go the JC route. We had one of the top 5 classes in the country the year following out Final Four appearance and four of the five left the program.

There were rumors floating around that Sampson pushed Longar in the locker room after a game and kicked him off the team and the seniors had to go to Sampson and explain to him that he was in the wrong and had to let Longar back on the team.

I don't know if this is true, but the next game after I heard this, Longar got his most minutes of the season and it was against Alabama, not some patsy.

He is a good coach and can get a lot out of mediocre players. He just never seemed to develop guys and get much out of great players. He has only had one guy go to the NBA. But for example. Taj Gray was preseason player of the year in the conference and he made second team. He digressed through the season.
